And to the guy who asked for proof that THE SPIRIT KILLS... well, now you have it.

"Suck"? These are great. Thanks for posting.

Soon I'll be YouTubing 'em all. And to the guy who asked for proof that THE SPIRIT KILLS... well, now you have it.

He "kills" evil cloned replicates created by the Octopus. We already knew this. He did nothing wrong. He is doing the right thing by destroying those things. Human cloning is disturbing. Playing God. Those things are in violation of every natural law.

Killling is deadly and murderous, even if you're a clone.

Well, they certainly prove it isn't the Spirit. The Superpowers are just ludicrous. Yawn. I did notice the reference to Jules Feiffer on the building which was nice. But that's about it. Nope, no Spirit here folks, just move along.

Other than the Wolverine on 'roids level healing factor, the hellishly inept dialogue aimed at 13 year old boys, Sam Jackson's character as a whole, and the worthless talking-to-oneself narration, it looked great.

It's visually stunning. No substance, whatsoever, but it's a feast for the eyes.

Those videos prove the Miller doesn't understand The Spirit at all.

I honestly think Miller may not be too intelligent. Not kidding. He seems more and more like he has no comprehension or social skills, whatsoever. He's "slow".

....yeah, yeah. Take it easy there, Mr. Master's Degree!:whatever:

Probably because most people don't know The Spirit...Such as myself...

-Scene between Ellen and Denny was weird as crap...the dialog was really bad.
-The Scene with the Octopus makes me want to slash my wrists. Why is he reintroducing himself to the Spirit?
-The stuff with the Super-Powers was ********
-Any attempts at stunts look like garbage
-Eva Mendes cannot act

However
-I love the score
-Gabriel Macht is doing the best he can
-The Spirit's attempts to ease the woman down in the alley scene were decent
-Scarlett Johannsson seems to be trying

Scar Jo seems to say her lines quite naturally and it works for her with her using that little pitchy voice...Unlike Eva who just sucks really...

But I might be biased...

It seems to me like that's the basic problem with the film. The parts that come natrually, like David Newman's score, or Scar Jo's (oooh, that's fun to say!) performance, what we've seen of Dan Lauria's performance, or even a little bit of Macht's performance. They act natrually. The parts of the movie that seem to be working are the parts that come most natrually to everybody. Letting Eisner's work be interpreted in a more real-life way might actually make the film feel like something watchable. But Frank Miller is convinced that by making every single frame look and sound like (what he feels is) Eisner using distancing computer effects and cheesy, unnatrual dialogue and delivery, he's protecting Eisner's vision somehow. When really, the incredible lengths to improve upon reality kinda take away the earthy grit of the books.

To paraphrase my boring, poorly articulated rant; The attempts of trying to bring simple, harmless, but urgent reality to this film, brought by people simply treating it like a real film instead of a cartoon, is the only thing that could really save it. But the attempts by the filmmakers and a handful of the actors to make this a very over-the-top cartoon really push the viewer away from the story, characters, and ability to recognize eisner.

After watching those clips, I agree with the first review posted and say that they contain some good ideas that are negated by cringe-worthy dialog and campy acting. This one may be hard to sit through.

I thought the same thing. What an awkward scene.
