small chunks of my post count seem to be disappearing

I thought older threads didn't get deleted since they don't necessarily slow down the hype so much.

I haven't posted here in a while but i keep noticing my post count depletes, which would only make sense with the deleting of older threads (since i don't post in newer ones), so I don't seem to understand why there have been drops in my post count still occuring...

any insight would be appreciated, thanks.

Inflation keeps shrinking the relative value of the post counts.

Threads are occassionally unapproved while in the trash can which means any post in them is taken off your account. It is only done to spam or flame threads, so think more carefully about where you are posting

Thanks for the reply, although I don't know what you mean by 'unapproved'

I mean if these must be threads at least 8 months old and they are well buried in the hype (possibly closed already).

you do have a point but this is like the 5th time and i don't think i participate that regularly in threads of that sort, especially with only a few posts being contributed each time (i'd either post quite a few or not any at all).

also unnapproval of a thread happens such a long time after the thread is no longer active, wouldn't dealing with such a thread on the spot be more convinient than going through them when they potentially are no longer 'harmful' etc...

ps, i'm just asking, please don't take my tone as being rude, i'd rather just know, especially since i've seen people keep inactive accounts and their post counts for much longer periods of time than myself.

The unapproving happens shortly after the thread is moved to the trash, and everyone in the thread suffers, Mods, Admins included. There have been no cases I know of of the threads being unapproved 8 months or so after the thread was trashed. If you are losing post count, it is from current threads and not old ones. Like I said before, be careful of where you post and you won't have this issue.

But that's the thing, Odin's Lapdog has been properly inactive for a long period of time, the only posts i've had in the last 6/8 months on it are purely to keep topping up my count that drops ever so slightly.

it was fine for about two months and then it dropped again.

That's why i decided to make a thread about it. It's not like those threads are large 'game threads' or anything along that matter.

the delayed response just seems a lil odd.

If you post in a thread and then 3 months later the thread is bumped and subsequently deleted and unapproved, you lose those posts from 3 months ago.
