Smallville - Trailer 3

Taking care of a little problem right now...but I will later tonight.

nice effects. We can see the difference between their arrivals clearly- look at the rocks on fire in kara's arrival
other than that- Why do they insist on showing the same clip at the end!

That was Clark's ship from the Pilot.

New season yet their still recycling old footage... :down

Thanks for posting it anyway Jc.

is that really an offical trailer? looks fan made . . . .

I think it's weird that they'd be using shots of Clark's ship from the Pilot, when neither his nor Kara's ship looks anything like that.

something tells me they're going to do an edited version of the original ship scene from the Pilot where we see a second ship entering the atmosphere right after Clark's. This was just for teaser purposes.

Nothing new, but it's much better than first promo!

It is oddly put together, to say the least. But it is real, that author seems to be an official CW member. Other videos are posted under that name.

Isn't that the old Smallville sign though? Isn't the new one, if it hasn't been destroyed by meteors, have the population around 45,ooo and say Meteor Capital of the World.

Could be clues to the new season.

That would be funky, IMO, if they left the original Pilot design of Kal-El's ship in...as it completely changed later on in the first season.

It is real, tho, yes. I could have put that together myself quite easily. But it aired during tonights episode of Smallville.

Just a note, I have another project I need to get done, so I will post a night HD download tomorrow.

The thing is, I don't think it's cheating to reuse the film from the pilot...

It's a smart economy. Why spend money to make something completely new when if they can save money for something else more important?

This is more proof some people aren't happy with anything.

If they had used new stuff, then people would complain about it not being like it was originally.

I think they will probably blend in new stuff with the old and try to make it as seamless as possible but there is only limited new stuff to use that's available now. The F/X guys may not be finished with it yet.

Thats what I thought at first, but the more I think about it, I doubt we'll even see an arrival scene for Kara's ship at all. Unless they some how work in a flashback sequence at the beginning of the premiere.

I would be happy with continuity of ship design, since the Pilot design didn't last. And I'm not saying they won't do it. Promos aren't exactly 100% indicative of final product.

Sill no Lana in any of them.

I'm not that mad about the old footage. Smallville is far from the only show that does such a thing in promotional material. But I do agree it is probably due to budget restraints. I'd rather they put the effects $$$ into the episode vs the trailer. Often times effects are being worked on right up to the last possible moment, so it may very well be they're trying to show a correlation between what did happen and what will happen. Who knows.

wouldn't it make sense for them to use footage from the pilot? Technically Kara arrived when Clark did. I think they're just going to add an extended version of it with her ship coming in behind his.

are they really going to show Kara's ship entering earth's atmosphere around the same time Clark's ship entered? Or are they just going to introduce her when the dam breaks?

Watch and see. :cwink:

Really? I knew the first scene was but the second one in space after they show the smallville sign is that still from the pilot? I can't remember the meteor rocks being on fire in space- how can they be on fire in space there is no oxygen. *mind boggle*

Actually I think Kara's ship is shown in the 1st shot:

Things look like they're on fire when they hit the atmosphere.

It's the friction, everything burns when it enters the atmosphere if it's going fast enough, so maybe that's what we're seeing there.
