i just read an article where a writer said that social secuirty was going bankrupt and will be by 2042, is that true? is anyone freaked out?
hipps, a lot of old people depend on social security and medicare when they become disabled or too old to work. Your day and mine are coming soon, and we are going to need it. People need serious health insurance/medications in their 40s and even their 30s these days..Yeah that's the way it's going to be if things are the way they are. Even though Bush's plan wasn't the best way to reform the system, the Democrats refusal to change a thing about social security is really hurting reform efforts.
IMO, they should just get rid of it. It's a relic of the New Deal.

The baby boomer generation thinks they will retire with comfort, but i can imagine there will be nothing for them..or atleast for most.
