If we think back, Trank's Twitter started around the time that rumors about cast started popping up.
Fox may have started that Twitter account for him with the idea that he could use it to post bits of info., photos etc. as other directors have done.
But we saw what happened.
Instead of posting the kind of things you would expect from a mature film director who understands how to deal with the public, he posted things that seemed more like something a spoiled teenager might post.
Then the account disappeared and we haven't heard or seen anything from him since. If I recall correctly, that Twitter account disappeared before the reports that Fox was looking to replace him.
In hindsight, the suspended Twitter account may have been the first clue things weren't working between studio and director, and from what is currently being reported, things may have gone drastically downhill from there.
The initial lack of information may have been a relatively simple matter of Trank not being skilled at communicating, but beyond that, the studio may have decided the absolute last thing they wanted was Trank communicating in any form.
What was Trank tweeting about? I feel like he fell off the Earth.
He actually didn't say much. He did dispute a couple rumors (one of which was that Miles Teller would be Reed) and post a few other tidbits.
The thing that was strange was that he would insult people posting and fans in general. It just came off as very . . . odd . . . for a public figure who should understand the game.
The final thing I saw posted (and I don't know if this was something that particularly pissed somebody off or just coincidental in timing) was an old Kirby panel of Johnny fighting the old robot Human Torch.
And after that, yeah, he basically did fall off the face of he earth. The one single thing I've heard from him since then was a response to his hiring for Star Wars. Other than that I haven't seen a single photo of him or comment from him anywhere.

He really didn't tweet much, but what he did tweet was rather antagonistic and unprofessional. He also seemed to be getting into these petty arguments with other posters, as if he was just a normal poster himself and not a supposedly professional film director. He was a bit like you might find posters of a forum might be when arguing back and forth over a point and when things start to get somewhat personal.
Film directors should keep a certain professional distance and answer things in a cool and calm way. His Twitter account was removed very shortly after.
It might be on Jan 29!![]()
