Very true but recent genetics studies have shown that these various species interacted and cross bread with one another at a rate higher than expected. Also the recent genetic evidence has led to the discovery of at least two entirely new species (one we only know about from genetics alone). This could have been as many as 5-6 or more different types of humans running around and interacting at one time in prehistoric Eurasia. That's very LOTR.
