Transformers So now that you've seen the movie...HOW DO YA LIKE THOSE FISH LIPS?!

O.K i'm watching Transformers right now, ep 1 "More than meets the eye" to be specific, and i' still debating about whether or not i actually like the lips on Prime or not. When i first saw pics of them i was furious; once i saw the movie, i was already prepared for them, so was somewhat immune. They're tolarable but they're still not Prime to me.

Your thoughts?

Absolutely hated the lips, I remember Bay saying that Prime didn´t look right talking without lips, but I thought he looked perfect when he had his face shield on and was talking so what Bay was talking about I have no idea

I didn't like the lips either. Fortunately, I built up my tolerance by watching Cybertron on Cartoon Network.

I predict this thread is gonna be bombarded by posters who will praise the lips, shun those who will inevitably overly complain about the lips, and eventually get off topic.

Really didn't mind them. There is so much parts moving on Prime at any given moment, you have to be kinda ******ed to fixate on just the lips for too long.

Simply, they worked.

I don't HATE them, but I absolutely prefer Prime with his faceplate on. He looked just fine talking with it up.

i could see the reason for Prime having a mouth. i gotta admit it WOULD look/sound kinda funny seeing Prime talking with his face shield on. normally when you have something over your mouth the sound is muffled. truthfully the mouth never bothered me except for that one-side shot.

They weren't needed. It would have been just fine without it. Waste of CGI to me.

I agree... The hockey mask is what I grew up with, and that's what I expected to see onscreen. I completely avoided spoilers for this movie, and I'm glad I did. Otherwise, I'd be seriously pissed about a lot of things. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

They didn't bother me at all. Still, I wish he kept the mask up a lot more.

They were fine, didn't detract from the movie one bit. But still, I wish the plate was on just a bit more, or atleast got more closeups of it. He looks great with it on.

I thought they would bother me. But they didn't. He looked fine with them.

Although he looked more "Optimus Prime" with the face shield.

he looked more like "OP" with the face plate. Cybertron is actually worse IMO because his mouth is blue. I think it didn't bother me as much in the movie is because it was still silver. It still looks weird, but not as bad as i thought would have been.

I couldn't take my eyes off of the lips. They didn't distract me, they fascinated me. All of their mouths/faces did. I don't think the when Optimus told Sam to put the cube in his chest would have worked as well without the lips. Like I said in a previous lip discussion lol it was their intimate moment and the no face plate worked. Though he could have kept it on the whole rest of the movie and it probably would have made that scene even better. He definitely should have had it on when he was holding himself up between the two buildings and he put it up just before he dropped..since he was already in action and wasnt talking to anyone. But it added to the "its on" moment I guess. Prime was still Prime regardless of the lips.

it didn't bother me, but I really couldn't see a reason why a robot needed a mouth to begin with. especially if he didn't have teeth or a tongue.
