Welker should have voiced Megatron. I think they only went for Weaving because of his work on V for Vendetta (which was great btw) but his voice was soo digitized that you couldn't even tell that it was him. He didn't do a bad job but they really just should have used Welker.

I don't think the government is trying to cover up the gigantic battle between the robots because that would be impossible with all those witnesses. Someone told me earlier that they're trying to cover up the fact that the robots are aliens. The government would probably call that disaster a failed scientific experiment to the press.

I don't have a problem with people bashing the films that I like. Regardless of how much they complain it won't ruin my experience. Anyway the haters have every right to bash this movie in this forum. I bashed X-Men 3 for a whole year and would continue bashing it if Spidey, Pirates, FF2, and Transformers had not drawn my attention away.

Huh, no. There's more than one way to not f**k up a duel/mexican showdown. What Bay gave us wasn't it.

What we got was the rough equivalent of being shown Gerard Butler's legs/sandals rather than seeing his face/upper body during his many 'To the death' speeches in 300.

Not only did they screw up what should've been an epic showdown, they turned it into a bad tribute.

It's called Transformers: The Movie and was released 20+ years ago.

Nothing in Bay's flick beats that (insanely cheesy, but still) shot of Megs leaping at Prime with his sword thingy.

I wanted SS to be alittle more like he was in G1 but less screamy/whinney (which really doesn't leave much...does it?) lol at least some interaction with Megatron...

Here's my take:

1) More Transformers and less humans: I know that Shia did a great job, and you cannot disregard the human actors in a movie full of CGI robots. However, the emphasis needs to be with the Transformers, as the Decepticons were severely under-developed. Aside from Sam and his girl, everyone else should be taken a back seat.

2) Section 7. I thought the subplot with S7 and the hackers slowed the movie down, and gave far too much screentime to supporting actors and cut down on Transformers. If they had omitted them I think the movie would've been more focused.

3) More classic moments, between Megatron and Starscream and Megatron & Optimus Prime. And get bots like Ratchet, Rumble (not Davastator), and Bonecrusher more screen and action.

4) Less comedic relief. I think Shia was great, but it seems like everyone is a comedian. The movie should be funny, but not overkilled on the punchlines.

5) Less Decepticon deaths. I think there were far too many deaths on Deceps' side, and not enough on Autobots'. In a movie where OP talked about sacrifices, you only see Jazz's death and it was very poorly shot and glossed over quickly. If other Autobots became a martyr, it would've made the theme stronger.

6) No full frontal on Megan Fox. I mean seriously... t:

If they removed the intire plot with the hackers we wouldn't be losing any storyline that matter. Keep the part where the stupid blonde finds Frenzy hacking into airforce one and lose the rest. Nice how the scientists and computer specialists always look like supermodels, hell she even had a nose ring showing how hip she was lol. Why couldn't I have had supermodel computer expert chicks at my college, all I got was fat short haired dykes that looked like Drew Carrey.

#5- Lose the hackers (but find a way to keep Rachel Taylor in the film...preferrably in less clothing )

#4- More "get to know the Transformers" time. You really never learned much about the characters (my little sis couldn't figure out why I was upset Jazz died...she had no connection to him. Also: More personal interplay between the Decepticons more dialogue and certainly more Starscream v. megatron

#3- Have Prime take down Megs...seriously...and dammit bring Megs back in the sequel, even if its as Galvatron.

#2- fill the plot holes...all of them. (IE I'm too lazy to list them all.)

#1- Have Prime keep his battle mask on!!! It REALLY took me out of the film when I kept seeing Prime In Name Only...he only looked like the real Prime 5-10 minutes of the whole film when his "mask" was on...and even in battle he'd pull it "down" to talk...WTF!?!?!?!?!

I agree. Of course, I think Weaving might have been cooler had they NOT digitized his voice as much...make him sound colder.

BTW- in that clip does anyone else think Cullen looks like Robert Gule??

Be realistic people, if the Autobots and Decepticons got more screen time, that would mean more CGI to render, which would've blown the budget out.
Remember that 150 million dollars is nothing compared to SM3's or PotC3's budget.
Bay did the best with what he had. If he had 250 million dollars, we would've had a longer fights between BB vs Barricade, OP vs. Bonecrusher, and OP vs Megatron. Not to mention less closeups to hide imperfections and wider shots to give us a real sense of an epic battle.
Dont forget, this is the first film in what should hopefully be a Trilogy. No doubt, if Bay's back for the 2nd and 3rd, he'll recieve a larger budget which will translate into more scenes with the robots.

2) A longer, visible, more memorable Prime/Megatron fight
3) Prime not writing off his Autobots so easlily. "We'll sucks to be Bumblebee, let's leave him." Seriously, could they have not have sent ONE Autobot after him?

I have never left a theatre with so much hatred and anger as when i left this movie. They butchered " my childhood"..with this this crap. Its been two days since this debacle..and i'm still pissed

1) It was so great to hear optimus prime speak in the opening talking about the "war"...and the reason why they left cybertron in search of the"allspark"
WAIT ...WHAT WHAT "ALLSPARK"?....try mmmm ENERGON",or "THE MATRIX".Something around those lines...but allspark.....screw you!!!

2) Regular human beings killing decepticons with basic weapons..You gotta f'n kidding me.

I don't think they needed to take anything out. They introduced everything in a way that everybody would understand. Especially those who aren't familiar with Transformers. They gave the movie a much more definitive plot, the soliders, the hackers, it DOES mesh well with the cartoon. I thought that they bleneded everything together beautifully. The ony thing I didn't like was the whole humans killing transformers...I wanted to see more TRANSFORMERS, though they made a GREAT build up for the next movie. I liked the pacing of it. It's very familiar, I LOVED this movie. It was WAY better than I had expected.

You make a good point there, when he talks in radio lingo they could have slipped in a "you've got the touch" while communicating, he takes quotes from other famous stuff so why not that?
