Preface: I know I'm a good 6 months or more behind on this...but the ending of Deadly Genesis was rapid fire and I just kind of took it on faith. So, bad me.

Okay, so, to my knowledge (unless Bendis mentioned it in the end of the Collective Arc in NA) we still don't know what happened to Xavier during House of M besides the fact that his grave was empty. No biggie, after all, he doesn't have his powers anymore and Layla Miller never saw him so he can't properly tell us now can he?

Cept, when he returns in Deadly Genesis, he mentions how Wanda must have gave him his legs back while taking away his powers to make him truly feel crippled.

....

So, is this just one of those wonderful continuity errors that we'll probably never get an answer to? Or has someone explained this in one of those books I don't read?

It's possible that Pietro and Wanda kept Xavier closeby throughout House of M. It was mentioned that they probably used his telepathic powers to find out everyone's "wishes." If that was the case, then it's definitely possible that he would've known about Wanda's involvement in everything and kept his memories throughout.

Of course, all that is merely "possible." None of it was ever actually shown by any writer, so it's also more than "possible" that none of the writers of HoM and subsequent events -- Bendis or Brubaker or anyone -- actually had any idea what the heck was going on with Xavier throughout House of Man and just left it as a big ol' dangling, unresolved subplot.

Imo, the more incomprehensible event -- and one that's even more irritating that the writers never got around to explaining -- was why in the world, if Xavier was completely fine all this time and merely lost his powers (and regained his ability to walk, to boot)...why the hell did he not just go home after the events of House of M???? All he had to do, all he had to do, was to make a phone call from wherever the hell he was (somewhere in Britain, apparently) and the X-Men would come pick him up. That's it. Instead, during the most disastrous disaster to ever hit mutantkind in its history, Xavier just hung around in pubs for months while his students were lost and leaderless and desperately trying to find him?? Does this not strike anyone else as being incredibly odd?

I thought it was mentioned.

It's so incredible, it's unbelievable! Sorry, I just couldn't resist.:woot: It certainly should have been explained. It may be part of the blackening of Xavier's character that seems to have been in vogue for the past few years. They'd probably say he was so sunk in self-pity that he didn't want to see any of his friends/students.

And apparently Wanda also provided Chuck with money, so he could pay for lodging, food, and beer (or whatever they serve in pubs.)

hey it's Dark Chuck...he does stuff like that
