I boot up my computer [currently running WinXP SP3], and everything is fine. My 40g drive, my 80, and my 250 [Drakbox A, B, and C, respectively], all show up, as does my CD Burner. Just a few minutes into it, and the cd drive is no longer detected. A bit more, and then Drakbox C is not detected. This bugs me to no end, because that's where all my music and videos are, as well as My Documents.

I've googled the hell out of it, and pulled up nothing helpful. Any suggestions?

It might help to point out that they are connected together on the same IDE ribbon.

i am gonna jump onto this thread for help as well if you dont mind. my pc does the same thing with my cd drive. it goes through random moments when it is not detected. also i installed a new DVD burner and my PC does not recognize it either.

oh...possibly ..not sure would have to check when i get home

My disk cleanup isn't working on my laptop...

well the only thing i can think is that maybe your IDE Ribbon cable might be bad or have a broken wire in it..... or go to your device manager and try to disable/enable your driver and/or reinstall your Hard Drive Drivers

Did both of that, and it didn't work. I noticed that when I boot the machine, it works fine, but then once it's done booting, the cd drive disappears.
