Ok. I have been away for some time. I gotta ask this. What happened with Apocalypse's return?

Was it just another shameful story where he gets beat like a puppy instead of dominating? Did he restore any of the powers to the 198?

it hasn't been anything groundbreaking so far concerning his character. he has had a big influence on some other characters though...

sunfire was turned into the horseman famine and got his legs back.
polaris is pestilence and has her powers back.
gambit is death and has gas powers... very weird.

gas powers?? please explain that sounds pretty cool and i dont keep up with comics that much i just pretty much gather info on the net about whats going on

also could someone kinda fill me in on whats going on in this new apocalypse arc i havent heard anything about it yet anything would be appreciated

well not much is known about it, although poccy did say he had to rearrange gambit's bodily functions... so maybe he's farting on everyone.

I'll try and give it a go...

poccy's got a virus (thanks to polaris/pestilence) with which he plans to kill 90% of all humans so that humans and mutants will be on equal footing again after the house of m left almost all mutants (except most of the x-men of course) powerless.

to make sure the mutants don't get affected he has an antidote for them, the blood of apocalypse.

sunfire as famine blasts all the mutants at the mansion with his powers making them all hungry (there was some explanation for it but I've forgotten the mechanics of it) so they all start drinking the blood (again except for the x-men of course).

then a group of x-men go confront poccy and come face to face with gambit as death, his newest horseman. it's explained that gambit volunteered to become death because he loves the x-men and that they need a strong leader like poccy in these dark times... he's death so that he can keep an eye on him and keep him in check. of course it backfires when gambit is pretty much brainwashed by poccy, leading him to almost kill rogue.

the x-men destroy the blood so poccy has to change his plans. he goes to the UN and tells the world leaders that they have to cull 90% of all humans themselves so poccy won't be forced to release pestilence.

that's pretty much where we are now.

Nice update. Pretty much sums up the concept

Well not so much leader but strong ally for the X-Men and mutants since there are so few mutants left on earth. Pretty much the same reason the X-Men gave for taking in Mystique despite her past too. Only difference is that the X-Men don't seem to even think of watching Mystique and on the flip side for some reason won't give Poccy the same offer despite that both Mystique and Apocalypse pretty much showed up in simlar disruptive manners.

It's really, really bad. I had high hopes for the storyline, but mostly everything about it has been lame as hell. I've been ready for the new creative team for the last few months.

i'm really severely hoping that in the last few issues, we get some good reveals, like how apocalypse actually came back, what the hell that doop thing had to do with polaris and apocalypse.
