So i'll start wih Chamber, John Starsmore. This book featured a character, part of Apocalypse's clan, Jack Starsmore. He was a mutant. Could Tieri (a master of pre setting **** up - See Weapon X) anyway could he be setting up a planned future story to reveal Chamber as a decendant of the Clan Akaba and Apocalypse?

Oh for those who didn't read it it's set in the mid to late 1800s.

Secondly there is this character named Frederick, he's also in the Clan and a Mutant, First off you may notice that he has pink hair and green eyes....Later it's revealed that he has teleportation powers. I couldn;t help but make a comparison to Blink. And once he started teleporting it's portrayed with a sound "BLINK"

Anyway at the end of the story Ozymandias get's a ****e (presumably) for yougn Frederick to ensure that the family line can continue. Anyway he calls her Miss Ferguson.

At this moment I will Point out that Blink's Name is/was Clarice Ferguson.

Anyway that's just cool. I don't see Tieri doing anything with this in 616 since Blink is dead, but over in Exiles (formerly penciled but AvD artist Clayton Henry) The Age Of Apocalypse Blink is the main character....and since this happened in th 1800s it will still be Cannon for AOA as that time line was the same up until roughly 20-25 Marvel years before Marvel now.

Anyway did anyone else catch these?

Thats interesting...could just be a little thing they did for fans to catch.

Okay i'm lost? whats this about Chamber & Blink. are their ansectors or something in this series?

from what i've heard this is actually a good, fun book. the only complaints i've heard is that, while henry's art is quality, it's not dark enough for this kinda story.

Possibly. (likely in Blink's case)

What's intrigueing is that if thier ancestors are in this mini then Blink and Chamber are decendants of Apocalypse.

I would have also if things were like they used to be years ago here... (I Live in ARgentina, once upon a time, the coin of the realm had the same value as dollars, now it's one dollar = three pesos, so comics got too expensive. If it was the time of the 1 = 1 I would definetely have bought this, I used to buy everything with an X... oh the good times...)

I'm buying it so far - its pretty damn good. I like the exploration of Apocalypse's history as a warlord and self imposed god.

The Blink and Starsmore things are clever. I thought that Starsmore's power being firebreathing from his mouth was similar to Jono's bursts of psychic energy from his chest - he did lose his mouth and half his face in the initial burst.

I was thinking of pruchasing this, I'll check it out at my comic book shop.

It does kinda make sense, since the AoA Blink was experimented on by Mr. Sinister who had always considered her very 'special'. And it would also explain why Dracula was drawn to Chamber if their had been a connection between him and Apocalypse.

during generation x he was hypnotized by dracula and then bitten. but nothing ever came of that.

Yeah, I think they did this really well, and didn't even mess with any other history. Really liked this mini. And the title is just kind of zany, which I love.

This actually helps readers to explain away the fact Chamber never died after M-DEay god I wish someone would follow it up, also 616 Blinked herself out of existence will there's a new loop hole to bring her back. All in all a really good series.

I spose because its theorised that Jono's body has/had become a shell for living psionic energy ever since his powers manifested, it leaves nothing for Dracula to drink or infect (assuming vampirism is a virus type thing - its always tough to tell which origin the MU goes with, given the darkhold and its vampire spells and things).

Now he doesnt have his powers, it offers up several oportunities. For instance, why was he chosen to be one of those who lost their powers? Were they planning on doing something with him at a later date? Looks more that way given the fact that he not only lost his powers but wasnt reversed to normal like some others (beak for instance looks human now) and is hooked up to external organ support. Bit extreme if you're just gonna have him forever remain in limbo. Might be that he's now shed his body and actually never lost his powers. His energy is just kind of still around his body (like the trace of energy Thing had left in his body when he died for real) and thats what they are picming up, thinking it means he's alive and keeping him on life support.

But anyway - I digress. Annoyingly I havent had the op to run to the store to get last week's yet so I dont yet know the outcome of it all. Sounds like its gonna be fun to get the latest one

I loved the mini as well. Good job noticing the connections, Rough

Can anybody really "kill" either of the two? But
Apoc
won for now.

True they are both immortal, but in a battle I just cant see Drac beating Apoc when Apoc has a respectful writer writing him. Granted...I am not too familiar with Drac.

Its good to hear Apoc won the battle for now. It does make me wonder though. He can beat Drac, go toe to toe with the Evolutionary, and defeat Kang...but a few Xmen are just too mucvh for him.

How can you not be familiar with Dracula?

Everbody is.

Hopefully this wasn't just to show how bad Apocalypse is. Dracula has his own deep history in Marvel comics...and in X-Men comics. Comparing the two, I'd say that Dracula has proven to be just as hard to keep "dead"...

Well we know Drac aint dead, the mini was set in the 1800s and we've seen him plenty after that. But Apocalypse did kick his ass (Cut his head off actually)

The book wasn't even really about Dracula and Apocalypse. It focused more on the members of Clan Akaba (Apocalypse's Decendants and Cult) Some of them became Mutant/Vampires and followed Dracula and some stayed Loyal To Apocalypse. Drac and Apoc were just kind of the figureheads though not featured heavily in the story.

The main charcaters were actually Ozymandias, Starsmore and ....I can't think of his name. A clan member that went Vampire. Oh and then Van Helson showed up.

The Blood of Apocalypse eh? Milligan is starting to make sense in the debacle that is his current arc now that I've read the final issue of this mini-series. Was this his intention of the links I wonder? Or purely Tieri seeing something he could logic out and add destiny to in the works of the to-date 'lame' X-Statix writer?

Further would be what the plans are for the unnamed but well known decendants of Apocalypse? And what terms are Ozymandius'? His snivelling and griping and whimpering in Milligan's arc shows little of this. However a behind the scenes use of Apocalypse's blood, the strange mental wanderings of Nur himself at present, and the influence Dracula's bite/enzymes had on Apocalypse and his free will might play a part in Ozymandius' manipulations of the events unfolding.

All remains to be seen - but Tieri for sure should have been one of the core book writers for the up coming mini revamp.

Tieri should get a core X-book.'

He made sense of Morrison's run over in Weapon X. Because of Tieri I I don't hate Phantomex.........and I actually think Sublime is really cool and can't wait to see more of him...........Because Tieri rocks.
