Somewhere in Africa, a child died but Jesus gave Mary J. Blige a Grammy

Then adopt a kid in Africa or donate some money:huh: If you get so worked up over these things, change someone's life instead of b****ing about it on an internet forum.

I believe in God and I believe we shaped the world we live in today. It is our fault this world is so f***ing messed up. I also hate people that blame things on God, Jesus, Allah, etc... as you said. But I do totally agree with you here. I think it is stupid for people to ask God to help them win this ballgame as if he cares. It's great to ask for everyone to be safe, but to ask for his devine help in making a touchdown is dumb.

Don't assume that I don't give or haven't changed someones life. My employer personally oversees an orphanage in Africa. I've given a lot out of my paychecks, and I know that it is helping the kids directly as 100% of my money goes to the kids. She absorbs all of the administrative costs. But I always feel icky going to one of her expensive, exquisitely catered black tie affairs. We're partying it up in rented tuxes drinking champagne and patting each other on the back for saving starving kids. I hate going, but alas, she's my employer and to not attend her functions would be rude. So I just drink a lot of comped booze and forget all about it.

I don't think it is. God does not need to "create" evil when mankind can do so on his own.

We have free will and choice ... we can complain or we can try to make change.

We can choose to be light and salt ... or not.

We can choose to spend time with those who need help ... or we can post on boards and complain that God doesn't do enough ...

While we sit and post about him, hot chicks, Lesbian subtext and why Christian's are all homophobes, haters etc. ... while doing exactly nothing to make change.

And as for the Child in Africa ... This is one follower of Christ who has adopted a child in Africa to prevent that death today.

Man can not create what God hasn't already created and since were are talking about the bible god. Right? God did it all first. So..if man created evil as you say..and god created man..then god created man with evil inside. Kinda like...donuts with filling?

having sex with as many of the opposite sex as possible is human nature, it's called the desire to spread the seed as much as possible to further the human race...murder not so much, although we do murder every other species...

Some people have morals, Christians or not. I also forgot that stealing was simple human nature and or fun.

If you know nothing about the new covenant between man and God through his son Jesus Christ then you need not argue because there is no point in it. It is called the New Testament for a reason because the ways of the old were washed away with a sacrifice.

but god is infallible, therefore how could he have been wrong with the old testament? are you saying that he was wrong???

To quote the version of God from Futurama, "when you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all."

ok lets go over this then...most of the things the bible says are wrong are both fun and/or simple human nature, and he puts it in our hearts the ability to do all of these things...then he gives us the ability to choose to do them, and says that he'll punish us if he does...sounds alot like someone saying that an apple is really awesome, then telling you not to taste it...wait a second...

Joker ... for you and all the other posters on the hype who always want to go here ...

God created the perfect place to live. He gave Man free will to choose.

He asks for one thing, to demonstrate that Man loves him enough to be obedient; a follower in love not bondage.

He gave them the choice. They chose. Now we have him then sending his Son to pay for all of the sin that followed.

Seems like he hand the plan covered from the beginning.

Read Revelation 19-21. That tree is there again. But those who will see it are those who will be there because they chose to follow his son.

Again. Free will. When the time comes, no man can say that God made him do it. We choose. That sounds like a loving God to me.

But that is my simple faith, my belief in "myths", "fairy tales" etc. That is why it is called Faith.

Cheers. CR.

That is nice..."I give money because I HAVE TOO" not because "I want too" kind of attitude that is ruining this country.

morals are only us trying to fight our nature. stealing is against it, as is the entire concept of property.

If you want to use the bible for a reference, check out the story completely as it tells it best. Genesis 1 to 3. He created Man without the evil. The tree had the knowledge of Good and Evil. Not the evil, but the knowledge of it. We eat the apple, we have the knowledge, we have the sin/evil in us.

It has already been said. We made the choices that got us here...no one else but our self, not even God, forced us to become the way we are. He made the world, he made the men, he made the laws. It is our choice to follow them or not. Just like our great and wonderful legal system. You can follow the laws and everything is great, or you can disobey them and face the consequences.

why go through all that though? if he knew man was going to fail, as he knows all, why make them with that flaw? why not skip the whole f**king around with us thing and get straight to paradise?

But by the logic if god gave man the abilty to choose then god knew from the start that man would make the wrong call. So why did he?

Who said I have to? No what is ruining this country are self-righteous asses like yourself.

With your men are animals attitude, I am suprised you aren't running around naked in the woods, eating and humping other animals.

Morals are only us trying to fight our nature??? WTF!?!?

I didn't know giving money and food to the poor as well as volunteering my time for Habitat for Humanity was causing me to ruin my own country. I had better stop.

No I do not agree with that. Morals have a deeper meaning than us fighting our nature. That doesnt make sense.

but god is infallible, therefore how could he have been wrong with the old testament? are you saying that he was wrong???

The bible is the interwoven story Joker of how God created the world, created man, why he did that, what he asked of us, why we sinned/fell, how he provided, how he worked for thousands of years to show that we as man cannot earn our faith. We cannot fulfill the law, thus we have to have sacrifices to pay the penalties. Christ was sent to pay that price once and for all ... and again if you read the scripture throughout you will see that he knew man would fail and that he had a plan of redemption ready to deal with our eventual sin nature.

But I think you know all that and just want to argue.

I have better things to do tonight but if you wish to dialogue meaningfully, we can do that another time.

I sense that you have made your decision (free will) and decided that Christ/God (Allah/Buddha/Higher Power/Tentacle creature) isn't for you ... it is at this point I will say that perhaps the best thing is to read the bible for yourself.

I would prefer you to do that, letting it show you its story as opposed to mine or any others interpretation. I know that is coming next in your arguements so we can cut to the chase.

Read the book and let it speak for itself.

I'm not running around naked in the woods because there's no reason to. We have heat, shelter, supermarkets, fast food, everything you need to surive in absolute comfort. I'm not humping other animals because interspecies relations have no appeal to me, although they are found all the time in nature (I had a dog who used to hump our cat all the time). I eat animals all the time, I bet you do too. When was the last time you had a nice steak? Your whole argument there is quite frankly absolutely ******ed.

Supermarkets and convenience are animalistic attitudes? I am not murdering or stealing because there is no need too...unlike your statement that it is "simply fun or human nature."

That's what I get for putting Jesus in the title of my thread. Jesus must be imploring these Christians to raid the boards and set us heathens straight. I used to be a devout Christian and a missionary. Like me, one day you'll wake up and realize that God is a fairytale and the bible is a book written by men. There is no supernatural being watching over us and we are all alone here on this rock. And we will die here on this rock like the millions of others that proceeded us.

God gave Adam and Eve the choice.

We would not want to be automatons or is that your preference?

Without free will, how can he be a loving God? How can he allow us to be created with a spirit and a soul and not be free to make choices for ourselves?

I prefer to know that God loves me enough to give me choice, while also having the complete frame of time worked out already and with plans in place to cover my a** when I blow it.

That is a loving God.

Anyhow.

Cheers all. Good night.

Just curious, what made you change?

My wife's watching the Grammys while I chill out here. And as always on those inane awards shows, some insipid performer has to thank Jesus for giving them a stupid statuette. And somewhere a child starves to death. It is so ridiculous to think that any deity be it Jesus, God, Allah or Vishnu would 1) give a f;;ck about a stupid award, 2) allow evil to persist but bless entertainers for doing something as unimportant in the grand scheme of things as carry a tune.

I hate everyone.

thank you jesus for this thread!
