have any of you guys encountered songs like that? when you listen to it and you think to yourself "woah, i know exactly what he/her is trying to say"

Yep. I reflect. On instrumentals.

They're advocating the theory that 'Silence is Golden,' and I'm strangely compelled to agree.

This thread actually made me want to go post here::o

Snow Patrol--"Run"

Damn that's a good song. And I miss my friend who got me to listen to it :(

errrrr.... most of the songs i like are reflective and that's why i like them...

they always take me back to a certain point in my life or a particular person doing a certain thing.

I guess that's why i listen to them, to reminice (sp?)

It may sound strange, but somehow I came across an symphony version of some Zelda theme......Gerudo Valley or something, and it was actually quite good, just kinda put me in one of those mellow, self realizing kind of moods.

lately this song really means alot .Every Little Thing-Dishwalla

Brickyard Road by Johnny Van Zant
Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd
Rebel To Rebel by .38 Special
In Loving Memory by Alter Bridge

are all very touching and heart wrenching songs

I connect with alot of music though, stems from playing it.

Never Say Goodbye by Bon Jovi means alot to me, reminds me of my first long term girfriend, and my first time...

Bodies by Drowning Pool takes me back to my senior season of football.

Amie by Pure Prairie League means alot to me and my girlfriend right now, as I dedicated it to her when we did it live, before her and I started dating. And yes, its sappy, but her name is Amy.

There are many songs that cause me to reflect on myself, though one song in particular is 'Nature's Law' by Embrace.

(And just for the record, I love Nickelback. :D )

That and Scott Weiland's cover of Depeche Mode's "But Not Tonight" motivate me to change for some reason when I listen to them again for the first time in a few months.
