I'm just happy its not guns. I like the sword touch. Well if you don't like this game you can always fall back on Sonic Uleashed which is going to play alot like Old school Sonic.

it's sad to see where sonic is going.. he can't be in a 3D game w/o there being some sort of gimmick (swords, guns, 3-in-one).

...and Mario is playing Baseball , Soccer, Basket-Ball, ect. and yet just because its Mario its fine. I have nothing against those series, heck I like them. Its just because Sonic has had a rough run lately everyone gets edgey around him.

There is a big difference though. The Mario games (Some love them, some hate them) are always quality. The problem with Sonic is that the quality of the games is usually not good at all.

Believe me, I would love for Sonic to come back to his former glory.

Ever since Sonic went to 3D, the games have been getting worse and worse. They hit rock bottom with Sonic the Hedgehog last year.

Realy...I have only seen 1 excusive Mario game come out for the Wii: Mario Galaxy. How do you know that the Wearhog will be bad. Its like Ultimate Spiderman with Sonic.

Plus having only SMG as the exclusive Mario game for the Wii has nothing to do with Sonics dip in quality. Did you see the time and effort, and most importantly quality that went into SMG? The Sonic Team hasn't put that much effort into a Sonic game in years.

Sometimes I feel like you don't even try. I meant with the Venom part of the game. To each his own. I'm looking foward to see how this game turns out.

It doesn't look interesting and it's the opposite of Sonic. In Sonic games, you avoided enemies or went right through them. I don't want to have to stop and fight them in a "Werehog" form. The "Werehog" form is also incredibly slow.

Unlike this Werehog, Spider-Man never turned into Venom. Venom also wasn't just something new and random they threw into the game.

Then you havent played Sonic CD or Sonic Secret of the Rings or Sonic Rush adventure or Sonic Advance, I won't say Sonic Adventure 1 or 2 because it seems to be a hit and miss with people even though I liked them.

Sonic and the Secret Rings is not one of the best games on the Wii.

Adventure 2 was boring. The Knuckles and Rogue missions were terrible.

Sonic CD probably was one of the best games on the Sega Mega-CD since that system failed.

Rush and Advance are handhelds where Sonic is still good. I'm talking about console games.

Wow, and I thought that seeing Shadow with a gun was a turn off!

It's like Sega doesn't even care anymore. Their next game will probably feature Amy cutting stuff up with a chainsaw, or Tails launching nuclear missiles from a space station. I don't think Sega even remembers what the old Sonic games were.

Graphically it looks like one of the better Wii-games, remains to see if gameplay can match. It sure looks like "Sonic goes Zelda":

It does look good but it seems too much like Sonic in The Legend of Zelda. Sonic is about going as fast as possible through a level. Not stopping to fight enemies with a sword.

What they need to do is have a hub world like Spiral Mountain in Banjo-Kazooie. Then have like 20 levels of classic Sonic levels. That way they can still satisfy their desire for an exploration area while still delivering on what Sonic truly is.

i'm convinced this sonic game is zelda-inspired b/c the elven/hylian looking characters. looks great though.

That trailer wanted to make me gouge out my eyes. The combination of seeing Sonic using a sword and the butt-rock soundtrack was just more than my poor eyes could handle. I have not seen anything about this game that suggests it will do anything but further tarnish my favorite blue hedgehog's already broken reputation.

I think I'm going to go play a REAL Sonic game on my Genesis just to cleanse myself...

Yup. And thanks to Sonic '06, we all know where that's going to go...

They should just go all out. Make Sonic into an FPS, where you fight leigons of Dr. Robotniks arabic elfs who have guns. You turn into a werehog, and get a gun too, half way in. Sonic will be a space marine, sent to the future to safeguard the past from the evil SHADOW organization, and "Chaos Emeralds" will be slang for crack. Super Sonic will of course be a hallucination that Sonic has after Miles 2 Tails, drug dealing pimp with a penchant for underage girls, drugs his drink.

And then at the end, it's just a 20 minute cut scene of Alex Kidd anal raping sonic.
