I've pretty much given up on the Sonic franchise at this point, but this looks like it'd be worthy enough to check out.

A recent interview said that they are in the early stages of Sonic Episode 2.

If you want a good Sonic game, Sonic Colors pretty much got praised all over the place as a pretty great game.

This looks pretty neat.

Sonic is actually making a comeback, colors was great. Episode 1 of Sonic 4 was awesome as well... but I'm kind of disappointed that they're only in the early stages of Episode 2... I never understood the hate skinny Sonic got... made sense to me that a hedgehog that ran constantly wouldn't be chubby.

That being said, I'll take any Sonic as long as it's good.

Yea, I prefer the thinner Sonic for the same reasons.

Sonic was a big part of my childhood, so having new Sonic games come out that are actually worth playing makes me all kinds of giddy.

If you have a Wii and haven't played Sonic Colors, get it off Amazon for 20.00...it's so worth it.

I am surprised that this isn't an ignorant bash fest like the last two threads.

But yeah, I love the trailer. Seems that it will continue to improve upon the Sonic Daytime stages gameplay considering Sonic's moves. Also I am guessing the story is time related.

if they were going to bring back the real sonic and redeem his reputation, it should have been in sonic 4

sega learns nothing, they fumble around in the dark, making the same mistakes

Its not even close to too late. Sonic is the midst of his rise back to fame and what better way to keep rising also celebrate 20 years than bringing back retro Sonic

He's barely pudgier than the 'skinny' sonic. I just hope it's good, I loved the Sonic game that launched with Dreamcast, but can't remember any that matched it.

anyone else psyched for this its looks great so far just in these few screenshots,
i hope star light zone gets the update treatment too..and keep the music but make it 2011 star light zone tune!!
this could be a winner after lessons learned from unleashed and colors it could be sonic at his best..
i for one really hope so!
