What do you want to see from Sony at TGS? I hope to god they will be showing some RPGS. A lot of people see the PS brand as the go to place for amazing RPGs. I think Sony knows this and I hope some great stuff will be revealed.

The only one i´m 90% sure that is going to be shown is GT5 and 75% on the new IP from the Ico Team.

And Sony is not the brand to go for amazing RPGs, that was back in the last generation, that idea is slowly dying.
At this time, the 360 is better when it comes to RPG, both western and eastern.

Being a huge Sony fan, I hate to say this but they are not giving me what I want...I hated the xbox last gen because of all the shooters. But now it seems Sony's PS3 is becoming the last gen xbox.

I want Uncharted 2 to be officially announced

Western no doubt about thanks to Mass Effect, but considering that almost all JRPGs (Final Fantasy XIII, the Last Remnant, Eternal Sonata and I'm willing to bet that Star Ocean and Tales of Vespera will end up on the PS3 as well) are going on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 as multiplatform I'd say that they're equal on the JRPG front.

Yeah, i bet that Star Ocean is going to the PS3 sooner or later, in fact, in the Microsoft press conference, when of the showing of the SquareEnix games, the only game that appeared as exclusive was Infinite Undiscovery.
But, at the same time, if the game was going to the PS3, Sony would have already announced it, to take the thunder off Microsoft.
So, my call is, at this time, is still undecided if the game is going to the PS3 or not, SE might be waiting to see how the game is going to fair on the 360.
Tales of Vesperia i don´t believe, but i do believe another "Tales of" game exclusive for the Sony console.

But, as of now, there are no JRPG on the PS3, so the thunder still belongs to the 360.
Everything the PS3 is going to have is or will be on the 360 too, and more (Infinite Undiscovery).

But Sony as a big card on their side, Level 5 never made a game for the Xbox, they work closely with Sony and they are a very good dev.
Dark Cloud 3 is a big exclusive to have.

Not necesarily. Look at Bioshock. As soon as it was released on the 30, there were very loud rumors that it was also going to be on the PS3. Those rumors never went away despite, the developers denying that they would bring it over. And since then, it has been confirmed its coming to the system, they just couldnt talk about it bc of their deal with MS. If Star Ocean is set to be a PS3 title, I can see things happening in the same way

But, as of now, there are no JRPG on the PS3, so the thunder still belongs to the 360.

The PS3 currently has Enchanted Arms. It has Valkyria Chronicles in Japan which is set to come to the US this fall. Ditto for Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice which comes out next month. Next year it will have White Knight Chronicles and that one definetly isnt going to the 360 and as you mentioned Dark Cloud 3

Thinking about it business wise, it will appear on the PS3 no doubt about it. While releasing it on the 360 will certainly help expand the audience in the Western market, the core audience of the Star Ocean franchise is Japanese. And the 360 does horribly in Japan. They do no have the amount of 360s in Japan necessary to keep this title exclusive, just like how Sony didn't have the amount of PS3s in the Western market to keep Final Fantasy XIII exclusive. If Star Ocean stayed exclusive to the 360, sales of the title in its core and most important market would be abysmal.

Tales of Vesperia i don´t believe, but i do believe another "Tales of" game exclusive for the Sony console.
Again, it all comes down to where the title's core market is. The Tales franchises' core audience is still heavily Japanese. You can't just simply ignore your core audience. I don't think that there will be an exclusive Tales game for the PS3 or 360. They'll stick to being multiplatform I think simply because of how poorly the 360 is performing in Japan but how great it is doing in the Americas and good in Europe.

But, as of now, there are no JRPG on the PS3, so the thunder still belongs to the 360.
Both the 360 and PS3 have Enchanted Arms which was made by From Software. The 360 has Eternal Sonata by Namco-Bandai, but the PS3 is getting it soon. The PS3 has Disgaea 3 from Nippon Ichi which is coming to the Americas in August and Valkyria Chronicles from Segawhich will be released in the Americas as well in November. So to say that the thunder is on the 360's side isn't really true because they're about even.

Everything the PS3 is going to have is or will be on the 360 too, and more (Infinite Undiscovery).
Again not true. While Microsoft does have some exclusive JRPGs, most of them are published by Microsoft themselves (Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon) and Microsoft owns the IP rights to Infinite Undiscovery even though Square-Enix is publishing it and making it. I highly doubt that Star Ocean and Tales of Vespera will remain exclusive to the 360 because the lack the install base to do so.

They both have Final Fantasy XIII, Enchanted Arms, Eternal Sonata, and the Last Remnant.

The PS3 has Disgaea 3, Valkyria Chronicles, Final Fantasy Versus XIII (currently), and the Sony published Dark Cloud 3 and White Knight Chronicles. And there are rumors that the upcoming Square-Enix event will be favoring Sony over Microsoft.

So in actuality the JRPG front has Sony with the advantage with the thunder being even for both the 360 and PS3.

I know this threads about TGS talk, but wanted to chime in on the conversation.

With Bioshock from my understanding they wanted to do a PS3 version, but MS struck a deal for temporary exclusitivity. Which is why they had to deny a PS3 port as that's something you don't do when under contract for exclusitivity, even if that'll change in the future. Then when that agreement was up they immediately began working on the port.

My guess is something similar with Star Ocean, they can't confirm a PS3 version if they have a temporary deal with MS. MS probably wants to extend it's reach overseas and get some of the Japanese market, hence the effort to get more RPG's, however it's not working. I think at some point MS will give up on Japan (or atleast pushing heavy there) and losen it's grip a bit with the JRPG exlusitivity deals.

Plus as HIppie said SO's core audience is in Japan. Even if the Japanese don't buy games as often as in the US, that would still be cutting off a huge portion of their core audience.

I forgot all about Twisted Metal and I guess Sony did too. There was a teaser released with the recent PS2 title. They really need to officially announce a new game in that series.

TGS should have a lot of games we were hoping to see. TM might be one of them. Also. Did anyone see were SCEE said GC at Leipzig is suppose to have 12 special announcements? I can't wait for these shows to get here. Should be fun.

I think they should have Uncharted 2 because we all know it is happening but maybe show like a teaser you know. And i think the should show A little more Killzone 2 because they need to let the people know "Hey look we have great FPS shooters also" And i I hope they get to talk more about M.A.G. and they should atleast have a realease date for God of War III
