Yes, one of the veteran anime dub houses is now going under their boot.

The Funimation dub of Dragon Ball has pretty much become its own thing though. They have become synonymous with their characterizations at this point.

All I watch is dubbed. It is animated, the dubs are better for the big series and movies and it makes no sense to force myself to read. This ain't Kurosawa.

I will watch subtitled and dubbed depending on timing of release. It's not the 1980s anymore. Most English dub productions are pretty decent or passable at worst. If it's a show I really like, like Food Wars, I will watch it in both formats. I like watching them in English because it feels like a new way to experience the show. I'm not picky like some fans who are all or nothing.

I didn't think Gintama would've worked in English, but the Crunchyroll version managed to get across the humor and cultural jokes pretty well. I guess at least if you are a fan of anime and all the things being referenced within the show.

Hopefully, Funimation stays Funimation and people aren't going to get fired and they let the guys who have done a good job continue doing a good job.
