I saw this guy in an airport a couple of years ago and he took off ...that thing on his head.

It's hair. Way, way, too much hair. Rapunzel-envy hair.
However, it's not as innocent as it seems. The hair might have been alive. My guess is that it was hibernating or in some larva-type stage (hence the hat, hereafter referred to as the 'incubation chamber'. I had a theory floating about that he was a potential scout for a race of advanced Sasquatches. It never took.

I suppose that all could have just been a ruse and the hair was simply to distract from the true content of the hat ...the location to whatever blackmail documents that are being used to prevent MTV from actually airing music.

Can't we forward this to the newly-relaunched Unsolved Mysteries show and get an answer here?
