I disagree with this statement. I think that space is beautiful, and that God gifted humans with our desire to explore so that we can better understand the cosmos that he has created.

Why did god plummet a asteroid killing off dinosaurs in a slow horrific manner that left earth like in a hell like environment killing off 90% of species and leaving only the smallest species able to survive?

I recently became aware of a cool little conspiracy theory concerning the moon.

Supposedly, an ancient craft was discovered and members of one of the Apollo missions explored it, finding a "preserved female body" they dubbed "Mona Lisa".

The pictures are pretty cool, and the satellite images of the craft appear "legit", and the story itself is a fun little thing. I don't believe it, but I still find these type of things entertaining.

I'm gussing whoever designed that alien was a fan of HR Giger.

I bought an amature Astromaster 114EQ a month or two back fairly cheap.
So far it's been great and i'm lucky to be in area mostly sourunded by farmland. Jupiter is so easy to find that once you know were it is you can always find it very fast. You get a nice clear view of it with 6 or 7 moons sitting at an angle. It is very bright though, even with a filter I cannot make out any of it's bands. At the moment I am trying to find Orion which is apprently very easy to find. Not had much lucky yet. Hoping to see if the camera is able to take photos through the lense hopefully the images can have filters applied in photoshop.

Voyager1 is at 11 Billion miles from the sun. Voyager2 is 9 Billion. It take 16hr 20min for a signal to reach Voyager1 from Earth...and vice-versa.

Wow...that's weird. That's the first time I ever heard of that. The spaceship looks interesting.

I'm torn between if aliens exist or not.
On the one hand...science shows us that the possibility of life being formed is very nearly mathmatically impossible for OUR people to have come into existance...but multiple life forms across the universe? That's a scientific impossibility.

On the other hand...I also don't believe science is always right. It changes as we learn and grow. So, I like to live on the positive side and believe that life we are not the only intelligent beings out there. :)

Fascinating stuff, surely the discovery of intelligent alien life will happen within the next 2 decades or so, its exciting stuff and I cant wait to see more of what they will discover.

I don't see how you've gone from one announcement, to that conclusion. Planets in the "goldilocks" zone are far more probable intelligent life forms.

A camera that can shoot 1Trillion frames per second...which means, this camera can take a picture of the fastest known thing in the Universe....LIGHT! Take a look. BTW, the old film of a slo-mo picture of a bullet shot through an apple. With this camera, it's so fast, it would take 3 years for the film to show a slo-mo picture of a bullet going through an apple.

:awesome:

Something you all might find interesting, I have a classmate who is stubbornly determined to be the first woman on the moon. She's diving into her research, burying herself in her studies, it's quite cool.
