Space Jam: A New Legacy

So wait.. There's people who actually WANT a sequel to Space Jam?

Nobody "wants" it, but they know kids will go.

The first came out two decades ago and the studio has done a half-assed job at keeping the Looney Tunes brand alive in the period since that first film. I don't think the kids are a sure thing.

I wonder if we will see all the other Looney Tunes back for the sequel? But my Space Jam line-up would be:

LeBron James- Michael Jordan role
Kevin Hart- Wayne Knight role
Jason Sudeikis- Bill Murray role
Draymond Green- Charles Barkley role
Isaiah Thomas- Muggsy Bogues role
Chris Bosh- Larry Johnson role
Blake Griffin- Patrick Ewing role
Dirk Nowitzki- Shawn Bradley role

Nah, it should be Chris Pratt in the Bill Murray role if anything.:woot:

So glad this is happening. Justin Lin and Lebron would be a slam dunk.

Out of the world's population, yeah I'm sure some do and so what if they do? Let them enjoy their wish come true whIle you ignore this.

Lebron would replace Jordan in the sequel but which current NBA players in the league right now can replace Charles Barkley, Larry Johnson, Shawn Bradley, Patrick Ewing and Muggsy Bogues in the Space Jam sequel? Well the NBA players that I can think of off the top of my head would be Tim Duncan, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki, Russell Westbrook

Definite no on Duncan, Nowitzki and Westbrook. Not Duncan's style, Dirk was a bad enough actor in one short scene so no on him, not to mention he like Duncan, is on his way out soon. Not as marketable to younger kids. Westbrook is not charismatic enough nor does he seem like he would want to do something like that.

Blake would be an obvious selection. His teammate Chris Paul makes sense too. I think the studio would push HEAVY for Steph Curry since he is so popular amongst younger fans and general audiences. Who knows if LeBron would let that fly though

I would go:

Chris Paul
Damian Lillard
Paul George
Blake Griffin
Anthony Davis

All marketable guys who are entering or in the prime of their careers and have a distinguishable personality who don't seem like they would be averse to shooting a movie

I'm actually shocked they didn't get Blake instead of LeBron. I could see Blake being the Barkeley of the flick though.

Hmm... Is this some way to make the Looney Tunes popular before they push their individual films?

Steph Curry cameo is a given.

Lebron was pretty good, as far as atheltes trying to act go, in Trainwreck, so it really had to be him leading this movie. And I can already see them doing a similar formula to the original, that this movie "explains" why Lebron went back to Cleveland, just like how the last one "explained" why MJ went back to the NBA from the MLB.

LeBron won't want Curry in the movie but the producers will for sure

Jordan has to cameo.

That soundtrack better have some JAMS!

Jordan should cameo to where Bugs Bunny asks him to return yet again to save the Looney Tunes, but he mentions he's retired. At first Bugs doesn't believe him but after a tour of the Charlotte Hornets facility, a dejected Bugs asks "so who's the best NBA player right now?" And Jordan mentions LeBron James and shows him highlights.

I feel like Lin's determined not to do any more Trek, and this is one of his outs.

I'll believe this when I see a production photo.

This solidifies that LeBron is as good as Jordan. The Movie Gods have spoken!

Im open to this. I liked the original Space Jam. Its corny as hell but was entertaining.

I've been waiting for this for 16 years now. They first mentioned a Jackie Chan then a Nascar sequel which took a detour and became 'Back In Action.' Really hoping it happens this time around.
