i'm working on something for a favour, and the person has said i can pick any version of the spawn costume i want, and all i can think is he has more than one? from all the images i've seen i can't see it. so is their any difference in his looks
Yeah, there's a bit of differences between the first issues and the later ones. Nowadays he looks more dead and decomposing than a superhero. Also, there are different Spawns with different looks.

Which eventually developed into this...
Now just take that last one and make it more demonic and dead corpsey looking, and you can get the recent look.
There's also this look when he has wings after gaining the powers of a God.
Those are probably the basic looks for Al Simmons. As I stated earlier, there are other characters who are also Spawn, I'll just post a few of them...
