Spectre vs Lucifer Morningstar

The Spectre. Lucifer is basically his cooler older brother who gets all the chicks.

Typical Vertigo elitism at work here, I see. Just because it was released under that imprint doesn't mean the character's more powerful. People love to say Constantine's more powerful than the Stranger because he makes fun of the Stranger, but it doesn't quite work that way either.

Yeah, Lucifer's powerful. But we've witnessed the Spectre being more powerful than angels who have been denied the grace of God before (see Green Arrow Vol. 3 #whatever it was when the Stranger tried to stop Hal from bringing Ollie's soulless body into heaven). Spectre has, in my reading of him, basically a direct line to God in terms of power. That's a big stick to carry.

Way to jump to conclusions there Aristo. I see no reason to call this 'Vertigo elitism' considering the character has been referred to as being second only to God (and Michael, but I'm not sure on that, haven't read the full Lucifer series yet). The Spectre is nowhere near that level of power.

Aristotle is applying for the position of Hype *******.

I never thought that Constantine was more powerful than the Phantom Stranger. Hell, Constantine barely had any powers. He's got a good knowledge of the paranormal, but I'd hardly call that a power. The only powers he rerally does have is low level clairvoiance/ESP, which seems to be limited solely to seeing ghosts and other spiritual beings, and demonic blood that has restorative properties. And the reason I think Lucifer is more powerful than The Spectre has nothing to do with the fact that Lucifer's comic was printed by Vertigo. It has to do with the fact that Lucifer is one of the oldest and smartest beings in creation and is the creator and ruler of his own universe.

Also, there's no solid evidence of the Phantom Stranger being a fallen angel. I tend to prefer the idea of him being the Wandering Jew myself.

Someone say Jew?

How very Jewy.

Lucifer would win under almost all circumstances. The guy's been known to create universes, destroy universes, change the course of the universe, and threaten/talk sht to the Endless in their own homes...without repercussions.
