Spider-Man 3 Score CD - Being Released?

thats awesome and that guy said something like sony and christopher young are working something out on the score cd and thats always great news

That guy talks too much. As soon as I finally found the Spidey scores, I wrote the minute down so when I visit the page, I don't have to listen to him again. I did enjoy the first song from Pirates though.:woot:

can anyone rip those tracks from it to mp3 ive been waiting for the spidey 3 score for friggin ever and i want to hear those couple on the cinematic sound.

That Sandman theme is the only part of Young's score that I really like (the other parts that I like were already composed by Elfman so I don't count them).

Apparently Young and Elfman are working out a legal dispute since Young recycled lots of Elfmans themes, but a score should be released after they've made an arrangement (around November im hearing)

What? Legal dispute?! Last I checked it was SONY not Elfman who owned the Spider-Man theme.

That's odd, since I heard...read...Elfman saying that Raimi owned all the rights to the themes. Huh

Raimi

Spider-Man 3 - A Conversation With Christopher Young
06/4/2007 Chrisyoung-filmmusic.info offers you an interview with Christopher Young in which he speaks about creating all the new themes for the movie, finding the right orchestration, the scoring process in general and many more. In addition to the interview you will be able to listen to several exlusive clips from the Spider-Man 3 score. http://www.chrisyoung-filmmusic.info

As for the score release, a
CD will definitely be released. The reason for the delay of the Spider-Man 3 score CD is simple, it's because of the song compilation and the fact that Sony don't want them to compete at the same time. So the score CD might be out in about 2-3 months or along with the DVD at the latest.

McDermott

That's your opinion...not everyone agrees.
Please don't tell me it's the most influencial piece of music you've ever heard?

it didn't stretch the imagination by any margin.

weak and uninspiring.

the only piece i remember from it that didn't sound like elfman was that lil bit that sounds like the incredibles them (i.e. venoms/symbiote theme tune) and that was horrible, especially compared to like ock's them in the second film.

Yea okay. My theory is that Sony didn't feel the score was good enough to release a CD then thought, "well maybe we can squeeze some extra cash out of this."

i have cd quality of the main titles if anybody wants it pm me.

That's the general problems with theories, they often have little relation to the reality. :oldrazz:

:up:Sweet. I'll be buying it.

Please don't tell me it's the most influencial piece of music you've ever heard?

weak and uninspiring.

I've heard some more influential music than Spider-Man 3's score, however I disagree. My imagination felt stretched by a few of the pieces and felt marred only by the recycled Elfman themes. I kinda felt like they were missing something; like the music was replaced by something lesser than what was made with the scene..

I'm sorry, but when I heard the Amazing Spider-Man band theme from the old cartoon, I couldn't help but know exactly what it was. I didn't actually know where the theme was from until after Spider-Man 3. I had heard it from the Soundtrack of Spider-Man but it was just a fun song randomly thrown in. (Yeah, you can tell I'm a newer generation Spider-Man fan.)

The black suit's theme always gave and gives my heart a small tremble of fear for some reason. It's just got this sinister vibe which makes me feel like someone important just died and everyone is scrambling in panic due to it. To a degree, it reminds me of a video I saw about JFK's assassination.

I felt as though the bit they played when Spider-Man (Black) hunted down Sandman was interesting as well. It gave me the feeling almost immediately that something bad was going to go down. It was more of a theme that could inspire awe of a negative but positive sort. You couldn't help but feel awe seeing Spider-Man in the new suit pulling off things he normally wouldn't do with ease yet at the same time, you slowly realize he's probably doing it subconsciously while thinking about beating someone's life out. If this were to fit another scene, I'd probably put it in a movie which featured stealth jets or something which featured something militant. It's the awe of power and the fear of what it's going to be used for.

Sandman's theme didn't really fit him that much. When hearing Sandman's theme for the first time in the opening credits, I thought it was going to be Venom's theme because it has a creeping or loaming feel to it. It's something out of Jaws or something predatory which crawls up from the depths of the known yet unknown to make its move upon you. Sandman's birth theme, however was very fitting. The emotional rise of it fit him very well, but I don't think it could've held as a theme throughout the entire movie.

New Goblin's theme definitely fit the mood of that scene. It was just so right into it and direct, picturable in almost any sort of aerial battle. I don't know about most people, but I liked how the first New Goblin fight came out. If a guy who is moving extremely fast is jumping out of nowhere to attack you, you'd feel kind of like how some people reviewed the scene. It was fast, blurry-ish and you just could not tell what was going on; all you knew was your rear end was getting torn apart by this random dude. The music definitely fit the whole theme of "Holy--I'm--attacked!".

The only real thing I can memorize after watching Spider-Man and 2(.1) are Doc Ock's theme and Green Goblin's theme at the bridge. Strangely enough, I think Spider-Man 2(.1) was the best of the three; despite the preference of Spider-Man 3's music.

But that's just my thoughts.

o ya someone rip those i agree lol :woot:

You know, I'd buy the CD simply for the theme that's played when Peter and Harry are fighting at the Osborn mansion. You know...with Harry's "How you like that, Spidey?" line. I love that theme!
