Spider-Man 2.5 outta the question?

Hey, i havn't been around in awhile, so i'm outta the loop. I remember being told that there was going to be a 2.5 DVD, Sam Raimi was adding extended scenes and such. It was going to be released the same time the reg DVD was. THen it got pushed back to 2-3 months, then pushed back to Christmas, n then vanished since.

Like i said, i'm outta the loop, so has this been canned, or just forgotten? I'm still holding off on buying a DVD of Spider-Man 2 till 2.5 is released. Shouold was hope maybe it will be released as Spider-Man 3 is, just like they had the delux ver. of Spider-Man when Spider-Man 2 was released?

I would love to see the fight scene they left out, where Ock is smacking Spidey against the walls in some apartment. Probably not going to be on it, but one can dream.....

If it is coming out to coincide with the release of Spider-Man 3 then we should know something about it within the next few months. It is only 7 months or more like 6 months & a few days until the next movie comes out so if a new dvd is coming out we should be hearing an official announcement about one pretty soon. I'm anxious for it to come out also to go along with my 4 other copies of the Spider-Man 2 movie.

They'll only be slightly longer. The action is Spidey 2 was so expensive that almost everything they did was put in the movie. Raimi has said there will be a few extra seconds to the train fight - the water tower sequence. We also know there is a shot of Spidey and Ock fighting in an apartment that was never used.

LOL, it's been on DVD for TWO YEARS. You may have saved yourself some cash, but think of all the times you could have enjoyed watching it over the last two years that you've missed.

I have a friend who never buys anything because he thinks it may be cheaper in the future. He refused to by any LotR DVDs because he was waiting for the boxset, and when that was released, he refused to buy it because he was waiting for the HD DVD.

This is a very informative thread.
I find I'm not the only one with way too many copies of Spider-Man and not alone in my freaky desire to wait for a DVD to finish with their many releases.

Both covers for Spider-Man 2 were the same no individuality like Spider-Man 1 got.

Not necessarily. They'll probably release a dvd like this one early next year to coincide with the third film's release.

Yep, you can see it on the special features on Disc 2. It's under the stunt segement I think.

Basically, you see Spidey and Ock in an apartment, Ock is lying on the floor, and Spidey is on top of him. The window is smashed, so it looks like they crashed thru it. There's some woman cowering in the corner. Spidey is on top of Ock, then Ock picks Spidey up and starts smashing him into the walls.

This is a behind the scenes thing, so there's no tentacles in this clip, it's all wire work. Spidey is on wires. Obviously the tentacles are added in thru CGI.

Looks like a great scene. I really hope they include it.

No worries Kevin.. though i have seen Spidey2 in theatres multiple times... we all know thats just not enough... my local library has it... so no i may not own a copy, but its always there when i wanna see it, for free.

But if u meant it being on DVD for two years, i was reffering to the 2.5 edition. I've known the regular verisons been out since its release. Hence my knowledge of the rumor being released the same day as the regular DVD version.

I too am spectic about it coming out with Spidey-3, but wanted to know if anyone else has heard more news since i've been around the forum.

You get a 3rd bonus disc with each movie (possibly stuff that deals with Spider-Man 3), supposedly the same features on both bonus discs so then the only thing that would be different is the comic that comes with each movie.
