Spider-Man 3 to open in Japan on May 1, 2007

If Sony's not worried about bootlegs, why should you?

I'm just trying to give them a bad rap cause they're releasing it three days before US. That's like... an insult to me at least.

Me too.

American hero.

American studio.

American actors.

Why are we going to be like the last to get it then?

Well actually Columbia is owned by Sony, this is why it's in Japan I bet.

3 days difference people, damn, this movie isn't your life-support...you'll survive.

A Wednesday opening in America would only hurt Spider-Man 3. No, I think they should keep it on a Friday like the first one, because the Wednesday opening hurt the second one. I couldnt see it on opening day and a lot of other people couldn't either, so PLEASE do not even suggest that this open on a Wednesday. Everything's perfect the way it is.

I think it's interesting. The Spider-man movies have had little nods toward Japan in the first two films. There was the Japanese Spider-man theme song thing, Mary Jane's dress in the first one, the weird singing lady in the second one... I think Raimi's got a thing for Japan. :woot:

Those were all Chinese...the red dress MJ wore is Chinese, and the weird Violin lady is also Chinese, as well as the little girl he saved in the burning building. No idea where your "Japanese Theme Song Thing" came from.

Both Spidey movies made more money in Japan ($56.2 mil and $59.5 mil, respectively) than any other foreign market, so I guess this is kind of a "thank you" from Sony.

A wed opening doesn't hurt the box office at all. The people who want to watch on the weekend are gonna still watch it on the weekend. It's not like they're gonna miss out by not watching it on Wed or Thur. Now it will dillute the weekend #'s a bit but if anything it'll help the overall box office.

Pull the stick out would ya. Like they're trying or even worried about insulting you. Insult? LMFAO

My bad, I guess I was just assuming.. do you know for sure if they're Chinese?

Who cares about the Japan Release Date of the Movie?!
I will see the movie 1 Week earlier than the most of the People, because a Friend of me works for a Cinema Magazine, so I will see the Movie in a Press-Showing.

Yes I know for sure, because I can tell the difference between languages and cultures, and you obviously can't :ninja:

The down side of the advance Japan premiere of SM3 is that in the Japanese version of the movie Spidey's going to look like this...

:D

Aha, that reminds me, I saw a figure of that in Akihabara, and he comes with the robot too. I showed my Japanese girlfriend the intro to it and she laughed quite a bit.

E-yay-e-yaaaaaaaay WOW! E-yay-e-yaaaaaaaaaaaay YA-OH! SUPAIDA-MAAAAAAAAAN.

In Russia it will get released on May 3rd, the day and half (+timeline) before USA premiere date :D

I'm Chinese and yes, they're Chinese.
I borrowed a bootleg of Spider-Man 2 from my cousin and it had funny english subtitles on them lol they even translated the Mandarin dialogue that was said in the burning building scene, forgot what the parents said...
Don't worry I have 2 OFFICIAL DVDs of the Spider-Man 2, one is a superbit DVD.

Eh? Spider-Man opened on a Wednesday when it was first released.

It still did an amazing 114.5 was it? Over the weekend alone.
