Wouldn't it be nice for SM4 they had a cameo by the Fantastic Four, or the X-Men, or Hulk?

i'd say Fantasic Four... that would be cool...

possibly have Peter Parker have more money worries, so he goes to the Fantastic Four and asks if he can join because he needs money. and they tell him "sorry, we don't give money for heroes" or something like that.

im not sure, the spiderman movies should be there own movies.

well, maybe you have a point... though it would be cool to show that yes they are in the same universe.

as of now it seems that all the Marvel movies seem to be disconnected... if you look at them it seems they're in different universes... there needs to be SOME hint that they ARE in the same universe.

I don't think that there needs to be a direct conversation between Spider-Man and anyone else. That would seem too forced. My idea is to simply have characters or events from other movies referenced on Daily Bugle pages. Without a doubt we will see the front page of the Bugle at some point. In the corner it would be a fun little easter egg for those paying attention.

If you wanted to make it more obvious, there could be a poster on the side of a bus or billboard touting the heroics of the "real" superheroes. Peter just rolls his eyes at it and goes on his way. Could be a fun little nod to the rest of the universe.

I was thinking the same... maybe have "Choas in Cali" or something.. have a reference to X-Men 3...

or have a news reference of the Fantastic Four... maybe have JJ say to Peter, about Spidey "At least the Fantastic Four are keeping this city together... that wallcrawling menace is tearing it apart..."

or something.

The superheros cant appear in other movies because the rights of the characters are owned by different companies.

Sony- Spider-Man, Ghost Rider
Fox- X-Men, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Elektra
Universal- Hulk
New Line- Blade, Iron Man
Lions Gate- Punisher, Man-Thing(?)

The only company that can actually have a "crossover" of some kind would be Fox (I doubt Punisher and Man-Thing would team up:p).

So unless the companies had an agreement of somesort, don't expecting the X-men appearing a Spidey movie or vice-versa.

If anything I could see indirect refrences to characters/places.
ex. Instead of "Daily Bugle newspaper reports sightings of Spider-Man" I think they could have like this "Local newspaper reports sightings of wall crawling man."

DC is lucky because WB has all the movie rights, because they are both are owned by Time Warner.

-- one way to "cheat" is to have the actor be uncredited, and/or called by a generic name (i.e., Guy in Phone Booth, Man with Glasses) and to not be in costumer or actually display any powers. Whether or not the filmmakers want to risk this-- and any potential cameo actors would want to be bothered-- is another matter--

I'd rather have lesser villian as the cameo, Shocker, Rhino, Vulture, someone like that. A villian that couldn't support their own film, but would make for a nice little cameo for the fans.

instead of having the superhero/villan named maybe the cameo could be say in spiderman 2 mj and peter in the coffee shop... the fantastic four could be leaving.... with the thing in a big coat and a hat... or in spiderman 3 maybe like it shows sandman at Riker island and it shows us the cells and we see names and theres like Rhino... in the cells...

No, that'd be dumb. Unless they did a "Secret Wars" movie (which would be lame IMO.)

The only character they should bring into a Spidey film and a future Punisher sequel would be The Kingpin.

NO. We don't want SM movies to become like "The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones."

Now I know different companies own different films, but hypothetically, if anything, I'd like to see something like:

Spidey is swinging through New York, and you see a red-orange streak fly by. The camera closes in on the Human Torch's face as he looks back; he gives Spidey a smile and a salute between heroes. Spidey nods his head towards Torch and salutes back.

This is all I'd EVER want--the Marvel movies all have their own tone and putting them together just wouldn't work, regardless of liscensing.

No there doesn't. Keep them separate & independent.

i think they need to be independent, but it'd be nice to have little homages or references. granted, we know Dr Strange exists in Spider-Man's world because that name's "already taken." but something a little bigger would be nice. like when Reed made himself look like Wolverine, that was cool. something small like that.

because one of the things the movies are missing that the comics have is that sense of community. in the comics, you know they all co-exist. in the movies? it's like they EACH are the only super-powered people in the world.

The movies don't need that sense of community, IMO. When I go to a Spider-Man movie I wanna see Spider-Man, not the Thing or Wolverine or whoever.

I'd appreciate a connection. I mean...there's obviously no way to see anything from the other movies in a Spider-Man movie, but I would enjoy seeing or mentioning one of the other movies.

It would be a cameo, not a role.

Have Peter accidentally bump into a trench coated thing, or something similar.

Agreed, you don't want say FF in a Spider-man film, why, cause it lessens their Hero, why call for Spider-man when we can call FF, or vice versa.

Spidey arrives at building burning.

Spidey: Can I help?
Firefighter: Nope, you're too late, the Fantastic Four were just here.
Spidey: ????

This isn't the Batman VS. Superman movie.

Spidey, FF, Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man, and the rest of em, are seperated for a reason.

Now if they were in one movie all together that's something else. Kind of like the Justice League only with Marvel characters coming together to defend the city against something HUGE.

I would go to see that, as long as the same actors from the films were in it. Tobey, Hugh Jackman, Jessica Alba, you get the picture.

a cameo would probably spoil it because spiderman can deal with things on his own... and the rest of them can aswell in their own movies...:woot::woot:

Ain't gonna happen because the only other Marvel owned entity at Sony is Ghost Rider and they DON'T go together.

FF, DD, Elektra and X-Men are all at Fox (unfortnately as they ****ed 'em all up, X-Men almost got out clean but didn't in the end). But none of those franchises really ring well together. The best combo would've been FF and SM (but good FF, not movie FF).

Oh well.

For the record there was a hint in SM2 and FF that the Marvel universe is somewhat connected. In FF there is a photo of Doctor Doom shaking hands with the president from X2. And more directly and obviously when coming up for names for Doc Ock, Ted Raimi recommends "Doctor Strange" and JJJ says "That's pretty good....BUT IT'S TAKEN!"

That will be the best you get. DC gets away with that easier (BF mentioned Metropolis and SR mentioned Gotham too).
