There's almost zero chance of this ever happening, but should Sony make one last movie to properly close the door on the original Tobey Maguire series? Certainly, I'd be all for it. It's apparent that Spider-Man 3 wasn't meant to be the conclusion of the story. The ending doesn't have that triumphant "finale" feel that an optimistic character like Spider-Man should have.

Of course, certain things would have to be taken into account, such as Maguire's age. Peter would have to be established as much older. There's no way he'd pass for twenty-something at this point. Also, no new scenes with Uncle Ben (R.I.P Cliff Robertson). There's also the possibility that, by the time it ever even got close to happening, Rosemary Harris would no longer be with us. Additionally, knowing Raimi, he'd only want to return if he was promised complete control over the project to avoid what happened the last time. However, I could see JK Simmons being up for a return, as well as Danny Elfman.

I think this could work. Also, If the film was a success and the storyline had Peter and Mary-Jane married with children, it could be the deciding factor in convincing Marvel to undo One More Day and finally let Peter grow up. Also, I really can't see audiences getting confused by this and the Tom Holland version.

Like, I said there's nil chance of it ever being a possibility, but what do you think? SHOULD it happen, or should the Raimi series just stay in the past? If you DO think it should happen, don't forget to post your own ideas for a potential storyline.

I do think Peter should be married and have a family in the film. It'd definitely raise the stakes if he actually had something to lose.

The chances do seem slim, but I'd be for it, as long as he could stay in the MCU at the same time. I'd also like a proper third movie in the ASM series, and maybe some spinoffs in that universe.

Just out of curiosity, are there any movie series that have gone back and continued an older series, even after it's been rebooted?

I think its better to just leave the old movies be.

We wouldn't have The Amazing Spider-Man series or even Homecoming if I could decide. We would have got Spider-Man 6 this year.

I think there is about as much chance of a Spider-Man 4 as there is of a sequel to Batman & Robin or Superman Returns.

Instead of Miles animated or Venom spinoffs I would mucn much rather see a Spider-Girl trilogy with Raimi continuing the story.

It would be really hard to both reintroduce the characters and have a new villain and give him a story that would feel like a good new finale. Although the popular choices of the Lizard and Kraven could work for that and be pretty interesting.
