Spider-Man: Brand New Day General News and Discussion Thread

Is it 3 years or 2? 3 would place it in 2028. If it's mid-2027 that would only be about a year and a half considering NWH is Nov '25.

Not that I expect a totally clean timeline with other MCU films considering this series' track record from the start :hehe:

NWH takes place in November 2024. It's a few months after FFH, which was summer 2024 and that was about 8 months after Endgame which was October 2023.

Patreon panhandler and blockbuster movie gossiper DanielRPK claims

The first scene or one of the first scenes they are doing is Spider-Man fighting against The Punisher over a DODC transport convoy.

One of the most important branches of the organization is in charge of law enforcement tasked with detaining enhanced people along with seizing dangerous and alien artifacts.

If true (my speculations)
- they could be fighting for control over the Venom symbiote left at the end of NWH. Marvel has also across its properties been promoting the symbiote suit in various games and comics and other venues in recent times.
- It could be for example the DoDC are transporting Bruce Banner.
- something else entirely

Supposedly the official Spidermanmovie on Instagram has been reset to showing no posts.

It’s true it’s empty now; I personally can’t say how long it’s been that way.

Nothing in the article yet but stay tuned I guess.

Edit: they are live-blogging rumors about scenes among other things there so avoid if you want (I imagine it’s gonna be in the official marketing anyway)

Herald Scotland: “The Herald understands that filming will now begin on Sunday, with set dressing taking place today (Friday) and rehearsals taking place tomorrow on Bothwell Street.”

A Villain’s faction revealed according to SpiderMan_Newz set photos:

”IT'S A INNER DEMON TANK

THE INNER DEMONS ARE IN SPIDER-MAN BRAND NEW DAY ”

The Inner Demons (often referred simply as the Demons) are one of the two main villainous factions (alongside the Sinister Six) of Marvel's Spider-Man. They are a group of zealous enforcers who became active after the fall of Wilson Fisk's criminal empire and were working for Mister Negative (Martin Li) in his bid to take revenge on Oscorp and Norman Osborn via extremist terrorism and character assassination.

DanielRPK claims The Punisher will drive this tank at some point.

There’s also other vehicles with this symbol on it in set videos.

There’s some arguing elsewhere over whether it’s the Inner Demons symbol from the game or The Punisher’s symbol.

So random speculation for whatever it's worth, Penguin Random House is listing 2 Spider-Man trades to be released next July. A random collection of BND era stories and the full Superior Foes run. So we know in the past both companies tend to release trades to tie into movies that feature characters and villains from said movies.

The BND trade features a Punisher story as well as two different Mr. Negative stories. The Superior Foes run features a variety of villains but Boomerang is the star of the book and it's been rumored that's he's in this movie. Tombstone also appears in the book and he' been rumored as well.

The Bar with No Name is also featured in both trades, so that could potentially be a point of interest in the movie. Especially if there's supposed to be a bunch of random villains in the movie.

Might mean nothing but who knows :hyper:

They definitely know and synergize to a certain extent. Not all publishing but some of it.

Tom Brevoort, VP of Publishing and Executive Editor of Marvel Comics: “About two years ago, in the days before there was a pandemic, myself and a bunch of the senior Marvel publishing staff flew out to the west coast for a summit meeting with Kevin Feige and his Marvel Studios team. The purpose of the get-together was for each side to go through all of their plans for the next couple of years, so that we’d be in better position all around to coordinate and synergize our efforts. It was a wonderful meeting, Kevin and his team were incredibly forthcoming about what they were working on, showing us rushes in certain cases that had literally only been shot the day before. And Kevin walked us through everything that their team had in the works going forward. About halfway through his presentation, he began to take us through what was planned for [Spider-Man: No Way Home], and my brain pretty much cracked. I was able to pay attention to the stuff that came later, but the scale of what he was proposing to accomplish for this film in terms of its scope and its complexity seemed, frankly, virtually impossible to pull off. And yet, when I sat in the theater this past Thursday, everything that he described came to pass up on the screen. That alone is a dazzling accomplishment. (And of course, the toughest part of the past two years in that regard was not being able to say anything about any of it to anybody–the price of being let inside in the first place.)“ (December 19, 2021)
