I feel there was a whole bunch of 80's popculture homages in this film and thought it would be cool to sort em out!

Breakfast Club - MJ in detention even tho she was never given it much much Ally Sheedys character

Ferris Beuler - This one is obvious and I love the how it was the set up for the joke when he crashed the pool party!

Mr. Mom - Michael Keaton offering Peter a beer

BONUS (non-80s): Nice homage to the original Spider-Man film when Spiderman backflipped to dodge Vultures wings hitting him much like when Spider-man dodged the Green Goblins glider
