If this is setting the Sinister Six up, what do you think the lineup could be? We already got Electro, what do you guys think is the likelihood of Vulture and Mysterio coming back? Of Gargan becoming Scorpion? Would you want the other two to be completely new villains or ones from the Raimi and Webb films?

I'm guessing we'll wind up with something like this:

Doc Ock
Vulture
Mysterio
Electro
Scorpion
Shocker

Dr. Octopus is admittedly wishful thinking for me, but Doc Ock being the leader is a deal breaker for me. Plus using him in this context would differentiate the MCU' take from Raimi's and Molina's.

Keaton is already coming back for Morbius so I think Vulture would be there. And I don't think it would be too hard bringing back Gyllenhaal for a second outing.

Scorpion has already been alluded to and Shocker is still out there somewhere.

How much do you want to bet we hear of Tobeys return sooner rather than later? Or they'll keep it a secret.

Guess they’ll call it Spider-Man: Into the Homeverse?

Spider-Man: Infinity Homes?

Is Tom Holland’s Spidey so damn useless that he needs a mentor in every movie? First Tony, then Fury, and now Strange
From the way they've written him, he is. As I said, i'm well past the point of seeing growth in this version of the character to the point where i don't need another MCU Spider-Man film, but with spider verse on the table, it's something I'm interested in.

See I like these crossovers because it’s different, but yeah, it would be better if they wrote Holland’s Spidey as a capable hero who didn’t need to be babysat by his special guest Avengers.

True

I’m not really a fan of Holland’s & in general the MCU Spidey they’ve created. But if bringing in Strange means we could be seeing Tobey or Andrew Garfield’s Spidey again, then I’m in

Yes. I also blame Sony for probably pushing for it.

The report says that Dr. Strange will be a mentor, but I kinda doubt it. Maybe Peter goes to the Sanctum Sanctorum looking for refuge after being outed. Also, I never thought of Fury as a mentor either, he just had a mission for Peter. Personally, I like the team-ups.

I wouldn't mind the team-ups if they showed Spider-Man as capable and able to stand on his own. Plus I'd rather see the crossovers in Infinity War and Endgame than a Spider-Man solo film. We have five movies of that, yes, but having Spidey need a mentor for all of his MCU movies just shows a misunderstanding of the character.

Yeah SM3 is more than likely just a set up for the Spider-Verse imo.

I'd rather that be the case.

Also with Dr Strange, is it possible they may use him to help put the genie back in the bottle as far as his Spideys ID being public like they did in the comics?

I do as well. It’s fun and it actually makes this feel like a living, breathing comic book which I think is great. But again, I just wish they would let Spidey do his thing with these other heroes like he would in the 90s cartoon (for example) instead of having to be ‘mentored’.

Why can't they let Spidey be his own man?
They already blew that tbh. He's made numerous appearances and he's remained an accessory to the MCU rather than his own character.

But hey if it means seeing Tobey again, along with the return of other villains and such, then it's music to my ears.
