Love Dr Strange/Spider-Man team-ups, so this sounds good to me. Sounds like it all-but-confirms that we will indeed be seeing the spider-verse but I’m interested to see how far they take it. Is Jamie Foxx’s Electro just the tip of the iceberg?

Ok now announce Toby and Andrew please!

This has potential to be absolutely amazing....

One has to wonder if Marvel had gotten full access to Spider-Man like they did the Fox Marvel characters how different would MCU Spidey be?

I don't mind other heroes showing up. It's just the babysitter angle that I don't like

I guess I just don't quite get the babysitter complaint. Tony sure, but not Fury and I can't see Dr. Strange taking on that role. Also, my take away from FFH was that Peter had sort of come into his own as a hero, so I see Strange as more of an ally in SM3.

Everyone: Tobey and Andrew, Tobey and Andrew, Toby and Andrew

Me: Nicholas Hammond

Like I said a earlier in the thread, never say never in Hollywood.

If the Jaimie Foxx as Electro casting still left people skeptical that they were leaning towards a multiverse in the next Spiderman film, the Cumberbatch casting should put that skepticism to rest.

As much as I love the Spidey/Strange team-up (two of my favourite hero’s besides Iron Man)...that’s going too fast.
I wanted Spiderman 3 a more grounded movie introducing 1—2 new villains.

I mean, I'm still skeptical but yes it does seem likely it's leaning more in that direction.

Spider-Man and Strange, two Ditko creations, coming together in a film is truly something great. They've had some great moments together in the comics. My issue thus far is how poorly they've handled Spider-Man in the MCU...I'm not a fan of this iteration and so my hopes are low to non existent.

I would like more of a solo/grounded approach but they've already proven that's not going to be the case. If I were to guess, I think SM3 will end up something akin to Civil War.

I would flip if Tobey is in both MCU Spider-Man 3 and into the Multiverse. I would be down for Into the Multiverse to have its own version of Exiles, with a team of interdimensional heroes.

Mephisto only saved Aunt May in exchange for the marriage. He had nothing to do with his ID becoming a secret. That was Reed, Tony and Strange.

True, but you know how they switch certain storylines up in the movies. Maybe he offers Mephisto something to turn back time or something.

Marvel has shown little interest in doing a grounded take of Spider-Man. Would I love a Spider-Man movie that seriously deals with the consequences of his identity being outed being hunted non-stop by spider-slayers, Scorpion and Kraven? Yeah. Has anything in his previous 5 appearances indicate Marvel/Sony are interested in that kinda take? No.

I echo a few other posters’ comments, I too was hoping for a ‘quieter’ Spider-Man movie with him just being the friendly neighborhood hero and not an Avenger. But, I’m curious to see where this leads.

I'm all for a Doctor Strange/Spider-Man team up, especially if you've seen the great chemistry Cumberbatch and Holland already have, but for the love of god can we get past this babysitter/mentor angle? It's almost as if they've completely forgotten that we already seen more than enough of this type of role with Tony Stark in the MCU pretty much acting like Peter's surrogate father.

Now, while RDJ and Holland also had pretty great chemistry I still feel as if they are scared to let the dude just learn things on his own and actually become an adult, but nope we are still stuck with Holland's Spider-Man being dumbed down and codependent which is something that I have already stated to hating at nauseam when it comes to the writing for this character. Jesus man just let him grow up already and stop treating him like some dumb, naïve kid?

How much do you want to bet we hear of Tobeys return sooner rather than later? Or they'll keep it a secret.

If Toby is more than a Cameo then it won't be a secret.

Yes. I also blame Sony for probably pushing for it.

Don't underestimate Marvel. NEVER underestimate Marvel

For as much as people are complaining about the mentor angle, I feel like Far From Home had almost none of that...?

“Fury” certainly wasn’t used in the same capacity that Tony was.
