No Way Home Spider-Man: No Way Home Spoiler Discussion Thread

Can we talk about how gorgeous and perfect Peter's new suit is at the end of the movie?

Whatever clear view I could get of it, I loved. Can't wait to see it in the next installment. I do hope he incorporated the emotive eyes though. It's the only thing I like from the Stark suits

Just came out of theater the 3 Spidermen were the show and delivered everything else was rather sloppy electro didny know who was Spiderman so why did he portal through? Anyway Aunt May:csad::csad:

Yes. I think that's the only thing left from the old suit. It's on the bed and he grabs it.

That suit... Holy sh*t! I´m absolutely in love with that. Looks absolutely beautiful.
Speaking of suits... Do you guys have any idea when the Art Book of this movie will come out?
I´m buying that thing as soon as it is avaliable.

But wouldn't that create a new branch in the multiverse? Raimi Norman is still dead in one the Tobey universe while this one goes to a separate one.
Yes, that the the concept that was laid out in Endgame and Loki. You can rewrite a time line. You can, however, create new branches. Not sure why so many folks don’t remember that. Probably because it’s a somewhat different concept than what is more typically done in sci-fi.

I thought they were pulled out of their worlds before they died? Isn't that why Ock was asking Holland's Peter what did he do with his machine? Then at the end they were returned back to their own universe all cured.

Or am I completely misunderstanding this.
But that’s not the way it originally happened, so any changes (like what happened in this movie) create new branched realities.

Also I´m really looking forward to the 4k bluray realease. I want a really EXTENSIVE making of of this film, and I want lots of Andrew and Tobey in it.

Sony has been slumming it for a while in terms of bonus supplements (at least they still put some effort unlike Disney). I yearn for more Laurent Bouzreau-produced documentaries like the Raimi films.

I wish big studios like Sony and Warners would license their blockbuster titles to Criterion so we get a definitive home video release. I would LOVE to have a Criterion release for NWH, along with Endgame, TDK, et al.

Damn, Spiderman gets the short stick in every universe. He's perpetually broke and alone. Tom Holland gave a hell of a performance.

I'm so effing excited for Doctor Strange 2. And I wonder how Venom will play into this universe. Will there be another Eddie Brock or will he take over an Avenger perhaps.

Also that end credit scene with Strange, I disagree when the one guy said Strange is the biggest threat to the universe. I think Wanda is. But so psyched for that!

Three of these movies and they've knocked it out of the park with the villains each time. Astounding.

No joke with his level of talent I can't wait to see what someone like Watt's does with a villain like Doctor Doom who desperately deserves that same kind of treatment.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, but man am I excited for that F4 now and if Doom is on the level that Goblin was in this movie than he's definitely going to be an iconic villain IMO.

Anyone else cringe at the Avi Arad shoutout in the credits? Definitely felt like something he wrote himself and put in.

Yeah, I kinda laughed to myself when I saw it.:funny:.

Avi Arad does he own a piece of Spiderman i dont get him being so heavily involved with the zsony movies ?

IIRC Arad is the producer responsible for Sony acquiring the Spidey rights and making the original movies happen in the first place. He made some terrible choices, has some famously bad opinions about the mythos, and has a massive ego but he has been a huge role in the franchise over the years.

Marvel doesn't really seem to have fully figured out what their time travel rules actually are. I mean, even within Endgame's production team, the writers, directors and cast all gave completely different descriptions of how it worked.

Random thought, but I think a big part of why the third act feels so magical is the location of the final battle.

The way it looks reminds me of the end of a Raimi Spidey film, harkening back to the contruction yard in SM3 and Doc Ock's lair.
Plus it's just an iconic NYC landmark, New York is a part of Spidey and it's great to have him back there again. We finally got that iconic swing through the city at the end. I know Far From Home had one too but it wasn't fully formed, he was on his phone the whole time too lol. It's part of why Far From Home, however good and fun some may view it, it's hard for me to see it as a definitive Spidey tale when he's not even in New York for most of the story. The last 2 movies really consciously kept him out of the iconic NYC landscape so it was satisfying seeing him in his element again protecting his city.

I really liked Homecoming having Spidey in the suburbs though. But yeah, as cool as it was to see him in Amsterdam and London, by FFH I had already seen Spidey in space for two movies in a row, and I missed those iconic swinging through NYC moments. So it was really nice to see it again here.

So Electro knows that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, he just doesn’t know what Peter Parker looks like right? That works for me. Harry Osborn could have easily said the name in front of him when they’re busting up OsCorp.

Well when Electro first appears he mentions that he absorbed a bunch of data right before he was transported to the MCU...

"I was whoopin' Spider-man's ass, he'll tell you! And then, he caused an overload. I was stuck in the grid, absorbing data. I was about to turn into pure energy, and then... oh ****. I was about to die."

I assume the only reason they had him mention that he was absorbing data was to handwave away his knowledge of Peter's identity.

I think people are reading too much into. Don’t get me wrong, I have issues with the movie but that really isn’t one of them. It was a plothole. I honestly don’t think it was even that big of a deal in the grand-scheme of things.

The bigger identity situation to me was the Goblin situation. Having Ock know was kind of weird considering Spider-Man went through so much trouble to make sure no one found out Norman was GG.

Also I’ve been ragging on some of the issues in this movie but one thing that I can’t speak highly enough is that apartment fight. I can’t say this enough but that was almost a perfectly scripted action sequence. You could literally feel the fear/intensity oozing through my theater during that scene.

So many things went right in that scene

- One or the cooler implantations of the spider sense in the entire spider movie franchise to start it all off. Jamie Foxx was actually intimidating in that sequence with this delivery to Ock “I liked you better before…”

-The writing for Dafoe and him in general. My god…. “Strong enough to have it all. Too weak to take it!” Oh my lord….Line was so badass that I was almost cheering for him. Then that look on his face while laughing at Peter is desperately pummeling away.

-The mixture of VFX and live actors which is so severely missing in this franchise.

-Music….I need that track.

- Well utilized break in the action for Peter/viewers when he climbs out the window to catch his breath for a second and then Bam…Lizard delivers one of the colder lines in the movie “ I told you there would be consequences” before the action starts up again.

Enough can’t be said about that scene all the way up to that heartbreaking scene of Peter looking at Jameson on the big screen.

My only complaint is I wish it was longer. But that’s just a natural fanboy complaint about any scene I end up falling in love with. I still can’t understand how a movie can hit such a high note one minute and such lows in silly sequences before.

Well, based on what I remember it was never outright stated that Harry didn't know his father was the Green Goblin, just that he didn't know his father died by his own hand while trying to kill Peter. What Peter kept secret from Harry (even after Harry literally became a new Green Goblin himself) was the fact that Norman, in his final moments, tried to kill Peter while begging for his life and then ended up killing himself by accident.

What I think most likely happened is that the news reported on the situation based on whatever aftermath was discovered and the public was left to draw their own conclusions (much like the situation with Mysterio and Spider-man at the start of this film). Harry may still have been somewhat in denial until finally stumbling into his dad's lab, but that doesn't mean Doc Ock and Sandman couldn't have concluded otherwise.

He was definitely in the classic traditional suit . A very vibrant red and blue suit that shines in the dark of night.

So how I understand it is The World hasn't forgotten Spider-Man but only the man behind the mask. So his exploits with The Avengers and all history is still intact from the previous films. Just that Peter Parker is a nobody of significance to the world.
Peter Parker still exists, it's just no one remembers that he's Spider-Man. And the ones closest to him like Mj, Ned , Happy and Dr. Strange have no memory of him it's a blank slate history.

The event of the Movie still occurred based on MJ's scar, she just doesn't remember Peter only Spider-Man.

According to you if people read old paper with pictures: Peter Parker is Spiderman, wont it be the same that beginning of No Way Home ?

Others avengers, knowing Spidey and Peter, would they just remember Spidey and not Peter? They wont remember the boy at the funeral of Tony, standing with Happy, Rhody, Cap, Thor .... ?
