I don't think Venom2000000 knows what he's talking about really. This is a triple A Spider-Man game getting as much development time as possible exclusive to Sony and being made by Insomniac one of the most celebrated game developers in the industry....and he think's it looks too much like the TASM games after one trailer.

Insomniac the creators of Spyro The Dragon and Ratchet and Clank don't deserve to be compared to Beenox, no offence to them, they had passion for the character but they never made a single Spider-Man game that ticked every box for me. I used to be subscribed to Venom2000000 but I unsubbed when he uploaded that video. I just thought it was a bit insulting to Insomniac who may be giving us the Spider-Man game we've all been waiting for.

One thing he gets wrong is that he says they are using a tower that looks like Oscorp tower from the TASM series. Which is wrong, the big building you see in the SMPS4 trailer is actually the new world trade center.

The last Spider-Man game I truly and thoroughly enjoyed was Spider-Man 2.
None of the others hooked me as much as that one.

I may very well buy a PS4 for this game. It really does look promising.

Small bit of news, but Insomniac will be attending GDC 2017 which starts on Feb 27th and ends on March 3rd.

Hope they at least give it a title before they show new footage. It's always worried me that they haven't got a title ready yet in terms of the games development progress. I'm thinking that the next time we see the game it'll have it's title most likely. Similar to how the new Zelda did it. For ages it was know as Zelda Wii U then they had a big blowout at E3 this year revealing the title finally.

The title itself isn't what worries me. It's the lack of the title, makes some people think that Sony may have announced it too early, people thought that again when it didn't make an appearance this month at PSX.

Trust me, I'm way more worried about how it plays than I am the title of the game.

The Ratchet games are fantastic and so were the Spyro games, but I don't think they show Insomniacs true potential. Judging by the Spiderman trailer all they needed was proper financial backing to really show what they are made of

The Stan Lee/Steve Ditko credit is actually the most convincing thing there.

TBH, I don't blame that video creator or those who are cautious about this too much. The reason being, most people that'll visit a comic based site for info on games like this aren't typically hardcore gamers. They just don't have a good understanding of how the industry works. They see another Spider-Man game and immediately compare it to what came before without taking in to consideration budget, dev time, studio, publisher etc.


An Activision published Spider-Man game, developed by a B list studio with absolute minimal budget nor concern for quality is going to be night and day different than a Sony published Spider-Man game, developed by an A list developer with a larger budget and a MUCH higher focus on quality.

I keep telling people that Insomniac will do for Spidey what Rocksteady did for Batman. Batman was a joke in the video game community before Arkham Asylum, now, he's a game of the year contender. Assuming Insomniac has the same care and love for the character that Rocksteady did, Spidey is in more than capable hands.
