I Know this will get a lot of posts claiming their are threads of this sort already out there.. why not post there..but i wanted to ask this ..

With Spider-Man's Current Status and so many fans in a uproar..

Do you think Stan is watching or Even Cares what has happened to Marvels Flagship Character?

And if he cares.. Would you want him to be the one who comes bk to clear up all this mystical totems, unmasking and etc putting him back where he belongs???

I know Loeb and Campbell are slated to bring a series to us in 2007..

From the way the current series is headed i can see Amazing Spider-Man's #500
"The End" tie-in a nice way to provide closure..

I am a artist with Characters of my own.. that may or may not ever get Spidey's kind of Attention.. but i dont think i could ever just walk away from them..

thanx for letting me rant on my first post... ~try not to flame me toooo bad~

You honestly think no one went to Stan "The Man" Lee and asked for his input on these ideas?

You honestly truly believe that? After he won several million off of the movies and comics over the years that lacked official credit where due?

and P.S.

Spider-Man # 500 has been out for a very long time. Get your back issues in order.

ASM #500 featured a look at the future showing Spider-Man's end, which I think is what he was referring to.

I'd like to think that Stan cares about his characters, but I don't think that Marvel has to go to him and tell him about everything they do before they do it. So while he may have created them, I don't think he has the final say about what happens (though he should).

I thought that Stan was Pretty much just a figurehead these days, the public face of Marvel, but with little to no creative power?

You're right. And at least in one interview he's said that if Spider-Man ever fails, people won't blame him, so he feels it wouldn't be fair for him to dictate to Marvel what they should do with him. He does suggest things from time to time...I believe that it was Stan's idea for the Sentry to have agoraphobia, so he does have a little creative input in the Marvel universe. And Marvel usually asks for Stan's blessing for certain changes to the Spider-Man mythos (like when Aunt May...er, I mean a genetically altered actress died, and the recent unmasking) mostly out of courtesy to him.

I don't think they've asked for his blessing about the stingers. I think Stan wouldn't be too happy with alot of the poor choices being made, but he's so far out of the loop that he can't afford to care.
