Spiderman 1 v/s Harry Potter v/s Star Wars 4, Pirates 1 v/s F.O.T.R

FOTR is my least favorite of the LOTR flicks. Potter 1 is fun and a fantasy classic, but blah. SM1 is one of my all-time favs, and Pirates 1 is enjoyable.

But come on. It's gotta be A New Hope. All those other films owe everything they are to it, IMO.

Well that technically is not true for The Lord Of The Rings book came out a good bit before Lucas made Star Wars. Actually Star Wars most likely awes its success to the Trekkie nuts and comic book fans for in the day no one wanted to mess with Star Wars. It was the comi con crowd that got the masses to see Star Wars.

The books are waaaaaaay superior to the films, but Goblet of Fire was a good movie.

I know i was just messing with yah. But my real point was that if not for lets say the sci-fi fans and comic con that Star Wars may hae fizzled. Give props to George for atleast good martketing ideas on the first 3 films.

LOTR: FOTR, I must admit it was one of the greatest beginnings of one of the greatest franchises

It's a toss up between FOTR and Star Wars (**** calling it Episode IV).

While FOTR is better made (and IMO the best made in the LOTR trilogy, though ROTK is still my favorite), nostolgia and fun factor give Star Wars the slight edge for my vote.

SM1 was good but heavily falwed and is put to shame by its sequel. Pirates 1 is an incredibly fun movie and in line with the likes of Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc. but it doesn't have the depth of SW and especially LOTR, plus I think the sequels will end up tainting it (kind of like what X3 has done to X1 and X2).

Harry Potter 1 was just a bad movie.

I myself thought Pirates 2 put Pirates 1 to shame. Am I alone? I thought black pearl was a great intro that introduced the characters but dead mans chest put them through hell and brought out the best and worst of them. I also enjoyed the movies dark tone while still managing to be fun.

I haven't seen FotR so I can say anything about it

As for the others...

-PotC1:Fun adventure movie but nothing really memoriable for me except maybe Depp.
-Harry Potter:I love Harry Potter but this is just my least favorite movie
-Spider-Man:Good movie but I like Spidey 2 better.
Star Wars:I remember watching this in english class a month ago for the first time. I was just confused throughout the whole movie (Maybe it was because I couldn't hear a bunch of the words). But I found it boring and I would have rather done work instead
