spiderman 2 best comicbook movie accordiging to rotten tomatoes.com

I disagree with that. The best was X2 followed by Spider-man 1

Way to go Spidey 2

Well deserved :spidey:

I've always known and proffesed that to be true

#1) Spidey 2 #1a) X-Men 2 and the third of the trinity the original Burton Batman, the catalyst for all of them.

You people do realise that RT base their results on a collection of OPINIONS. In short, what they think doesn't matter.

Just like what you, or what anyone else here says doesn't matter, because it's just your opinion. But you still voice your opinion anyway, don't you. But, I'm sure you wouldn't be saying this if it was a movie you liked that they were talking about ;)

It may be a collection of opinions, but it's a hell of alot of opinions. That's why it deserves recognition.

Spidey 3 has four times the amount of rotten reviews the first two movies got.

Well deserved.

The best superhero movie? I don't know about that...I mean, I like it a lot, but for one, I think Superman II had better pacing and dialog, as well as a more interesting love story.

Guys, that list is completely based off of an assertion of critic reviews compiled together. Technically, that list is not "Best Comic Book films," but rather "Highest critically acclaimed Comic Book films."

But either way, I think the list is solid. Spidey 2, Batman Begins, and X2 are my top three favorite :)

totally deserved pound for pound spidey 2 is the best comic book movie ever.

best story
villian with the most emotional depth, you see WHY doc ock turns to crime.
best action (possibly the greatest action sequence commited to film)
hero with the most emotional depth, you see peter's struggle to become a hero.

for me SM2 had everything whereas the other contenders where missing elements

Batman begins
brilliant story
hero with emotional depth
villians? the villians weren't fleshed out at all. for instance sure the FANS know RAG is hundreds of years old but at no point is this shown, RAG motivation for destroying the world is explained (as far as 'I' saw in ONE LINE) the director ASSUMES the audience will take at face value the motivation which drives ra's.

action was choppy as heck. understandable for the first fight (villians POV) unforgivable that ALL the fights were hard to see what was going on. last action scene had a sub character (commish) take out the main threat (the train).

X2
brilliant story
fantastic action
heroes weren't fleshed (well not to the extent of the first movie)
villians weren't fleshed out (again not as much as the first movie)

SUPERMAN
far and away the best score ever in a superhero movie
villan and hero fleshed out you see the motivation which drives them in this movie
not enough action

SUPERMAN 2
fleshes out the character of superman even further.
great action
villians don't have enough emotional depth, no background other than they hate supes dad.

I rank the movies thus

SM2
story - A
action - A
hero - A
villians - A

SUPERMAN 2
story - A
action - A
hero - A
villians - B

SUPERMAN
story - A
action - B
hero - A
villians - A

BATMAN BEGINS
story - A
action - C
hero - A
villians - B

X2
story - B
action - A
heroes - B
villians - C

only my opinion of course but that's the reason why I think SM2 is the best superhero movie of all time.
I will add the next batman movie has the potential to ticks all the 'A's, we'll see

My personal fave is Batman (1989). But Spidey 2 is #3 on my list.

Spider-Man 2 is definately the best. This list got that right. However, I disagree with the list on the ranking of many of the movies on the list.

It's all based on opinion, one list could never please everyone.

I came out of x2 and BB thinking 'great movie' I came out of spidey 2 thinking 'that's the best superhero movie I've ever seen'.

My point is, what other people think about something shouldn't be regarded as some sort of awe-inspiring doctrine. At the end of the day, one's opinion as a member of the audience is what truely matters. If you're some stake holder in a studio of a movie, then yeah, certain opinions by reviewers count almost more than life itself but the majority of people here, I assume, don't fill that position so, really, I dont see why the reviews of web sites and other people are held in such high regard. There are films that I love that get worshipped all over but it means nothing to me as such because I don't care if they loved or hated it, how I feel about the movie takes priority.

People are complaining that the dialogue in sm3 was crap. I find that hilarious because sm3 is the only spidey movie where the conversations between the characters were actually realistic as opposed to the nonsensical babblings of sm2 especially.

can't argue with that. beauty is in the eye of the beholder but surely if LOTS of people cast a similar opinion on something that has value as well?

I agree.

Nobody was saying RT's list was the absolute truth. It was just a point of interest being shown. That's all.

Again, I don't see anyone holding this in such high regard. It's always very interesting to read what other critics and movie reviewers think about a movie. I think you're confusing interest with high regard.

Nobody around here ever says if a critic says it, it must be true. That's the same as saying the box office takings are the ultimate truth.

There are films that I love that get worshipped all over but it means nothing to me as such because I don't care if they loved or hated it, how I feel about the movie takes priority.

That's exactly how you should feel

Goody, we all understand each other *smiles* (cant be ased to click on smiley).

I'm with you--Harry, Peter and MJ come off as real people in Spidey 3--and there's no big speeches (that I can remember).
I can't stand huge monologues. Unless they're done by the bad guy, and even then, those have to be exceptionally good.

Aunt May's dialogue comes off as dired up sometimes, well to me atleast.

I think the ranking is deserved though I'm sure there'll be outcry from people who think X2 and Batman Begins should take that spot.

i completely agree with that because i think spidey 2 is #1!

And they are so right:spidey: This film has a perfect balance between action and story:up:
