Thanks guys, I'm glad you like that scene. I like it so much better that way myself. The only concern I have right now is when Harry shows up at the construction site. Does it make that much sense for him to show up and save Peter, when the last time we saw him he got half his face blown off?

Remember, right now there is no asking Harry for help, nor the Butler scene. The way it plays, its neat because for a time, you don't know if Harry is there to help Peter or kill him himself. Still, not too sure about that scene.

I was wondering about that too. It would be better to have the help scene in there, but I'm not too sure where you would put it in.

How long does Peter have the black suit for in your cut? I think in the normal movie it's 40 minutes, or around then.

Oh, and by the way, I wanted to say just how much I loved the idea of moving the Aunt May scene at Peter's apartment to after Harry's Funeral. It works so well there.

Haha! I think in the normal cut he had it on for 10 minutes!! (Kept taking it off, putting it on, taking it off and putting it in a horribly contrived plot device, the box, then putting it back on, then taking it off........ wait a minute, if it was so easy to take it off, what was up with the bell tower scene. Couldn't he just have gone home and changed clothes again?)

Of course, I'm being sarcastic, but its not that far off. Thats one of the things that bothered me so much in the theatrical cut. At any rate, right now he gets the suit 57 minutes in, and gets it off at 90 minutes.

Hey Vash, what have you done about the Jazz Club scene where Peter dances with Gwen?

I wanna know what he did with alot of the film. But we'll see. He's working hard. But I wanna know how he did the beginning. Right to the opening of the movie where the narraration begins I don't like the music. Too damn cheery.

Vash, I have a suggestion. You know in SM2 where Spidey is swinging and it shows CG close-up in slo motion before he falls, the music playing there would go great in the opening. Just pick where it fits the most though.

Jazz club scene SEVERELY cut down. It goes something along the lines of:

Peter and Gwen get their table, they have their conversation about going somewhere else after they see MJ, then the DJ says "Mary Jane, show us what you've got."

The next scene is Peter taking Gwens hand to dance with her. All that other crap is gone. I wish I could take credit for that cut, but it belongs to Adigitalman at Fanedit. He came up with that idea first, he just allowed me to use it.

The beginning, I too find it too cheery, and worked on changing that, but I never found anything I really liked. You have to have the shot of him in class with Gwen and Conners to set both of them up for later in the film, you need to see how NY is gaga over SM (which never happened in the comics, but I digress, not much I can do about that in this film), and it leads into MJ's play. There is really not a lot you can do without there.

I am off this weekend, so I plan on getting some editing done. I'm running into rough spots with the changes I made to Harrys flashback scene, and to the Harry v Peter mansion fight, seems there's some issues with the surround sound and the new music I added. Other than that, besides some minor audio issues I need to tweak, the film is pretty much ready to go.

An animated Spiderman film from Spiderman TAS (mid 90's cartoon) of the Venom saga, edited together to make one film.



Oh yeah, I changed the end credits. It now includes the beginning of the Spider Suit from SM2, Walter Reed and Sorry. I think those two fit the movie really really well.

Vash, I compeletely agree with you with the jazz club scene. Cutting out Peter giving the waitress money to sitting down at the table is perfect. So is just them getting up and dancing. Before you told us about the edit, I thought about that too. Just cut out all that nonsense and just show Peter dancing with her. It's enough to make her jelous plus the whole reason was to make her that way. Perfect. And I hoped you cut out Peter saying, "You're gonna totally dig this joint."

And I agree with you on the beginning. I'm fine with that. It's just I think the music could be a bit different.

And Harry's flashback? What do you mean by that?

And Dolby 5.1 audio huh? *Green Goblin voice*

And I have a suggestion about the bell tower scene. You don't have to do it. But I always thought that scene would be more psychological before the film came out. Before it came out, I wrote the scene with alot more detail. While he's taking the suit off, I had voices of the past films revist him. Important Memories going through his head and/or things that the symbiote is going to take with it. Maybe thow in some bad advice to make it look like his good and bad memories are fighting eachother to see wihich will take over him. The symbiote is testing his morals.

You should do this. Get some really sample audio clips from the past films and incorpoate it into the bell tower scene.

The voices should be scattered. Like just oging through his head. He's using all his might and the advice form loved ones to take it off.

Here are some audio clips:

Octavious - "Intelligence isn't a privelage, it's a gift, and you use it for the good of mankind."

Aunt May - "I believe there's a hero in all of us. Keeps us honest. Gives us strength. Even though sometimes we have to be steady and give up the thing we want the most. Even our dreams."

Uncle Ben (MAYBE use this) "With great power comes great responsibility."

Harry - "Thank God for you, Peter." Intermix this with the Goblin saying the same thing in SM1.

Norman - "Be a son to me now."

Harry - "What have you done? What have you done?!!"

MJ - "Isn't it time someone else saved your life?

That's all I can think of right now. Pick what you think is best. I'll try to come up with some more later. But I really urge you to use the Octavious qoute and the Aunt May quote.

EDIT: You could also use assorted flashback like clips from the past films. Do really important points though. Like Peter taking picture of MJ. Peter getting bit. Peter scaling the walls to his backyard talk with MJ. Peter laying over Uncle Ben's body. Peter face to face with his uncle's killer. Maybe a flash of Marko. Peter's confrontation with Osborne at the end. Harry embracing Peter. Mj kissing him. You get the idea. Maybe other stuff from SM2.

This could all take longer, but just a suggestion. This could really make this scene so much better.

My goal is to make SM3.1 still FEEL like Rami's film, because I think if you make too many radical changes, it will throw much of the people I'd hope would see this film off, as its too much of a departure. Thanks for the thoughts though, I might look back into it to see if I can do this.

UPDATE:

Back to action sequence audio has been completly rebuilt and is in the film. This was the most challenging part remaining in the edit.

Also have decided how to have Peter ask Harry for help in the film, I think it will be at a very moving moment, I won't spoil it until I know for sure I can do it.

I am gunning for the film to be done by the end of November, and the DVD authored and 100% ready to go by Dec 10th. There might be a contest coming for three people here and three people at fanedit.org to get advanced copies of the DVD sent to them, and allow them to do an advanced review, like how some movie critics get to see the film before the rest of us. Depends on time.

So, planned timeline:
Nov 30th- Spiderman 3.1 theatrical film completed
Dec 2nd- Spiderman TAS Movie completed

No, it will be hosted on a torrent file, possible will be on a site where you can stream the film and watch it if you don't want to download it, and possibly another download location. This is to be downloaded by ONLY those who OWN Spiderman 3. It protects you (and me) from copyright infrigement, as it seems studios have no problem with owners of the films to trade alternate versions of the films among themselves. You are not bootlegging the film in that situation.

The contest winners (again, if there is time) I will ship them the DVD with the case and disc covers prior to the actual film release date. I'd like it to be free of charge, but if it cost anything, it will only cost shipping. Have to see how my finanaces are at that time.

Actually no. I edited the scene where he hits on Betty, and tells Jameson if he wants the shots, its going to be the staff job. I altered the music, and added a shot from the trailers of the black suit spiderman doing a backflip before decending to the streets.

Then it goes to Marko.

I would suggest splitting it up and uploading it to somewhere like rapidshare as well.

Torrents rely on other people seeding, it will take a long time for seeders to build up, then most of them will stop and after a few weeks you'll be left with one or 2 people seeding it.
