Stake Land: anyone seen this?

Watched this the other night, havent seen a thread about it and search didnt bring anything up. But this is a low budget apocalyptic vampire movie which is actually pretty damn good.

It has no stars in, though some of the cast may be familiar, but it tackles some pretty deep theme's about humanity and is very bleak, a lot like The Road with vampires in. There are many memorable moments as well as a few jumps and scares and it doesnt shy away from commentary on Christianity and other controversial things. I highly recommed it peeps it is well worth a watch.

This is actually one of the best low budget horror films I've seen in a while. The comparisons to The Road are fair. I thought it was a dark alternative to Zombieland.
i hope it gains more of a cult status.

^Same here, I just thought the darkness and bleakness was very reminiscent of The Road. And what I loved about it was that the vampires were actually scary and a threat.

The fact that Mister and Martin had to keep honing their skills to keep on top of them and even had to run away sometimes despite being hardend vampire killers elevated their threat. Of course, they arent the true villains of the movie, but they made for some pretty damn scary moments.

It was very well made, a type of old school horror movie made with old sensibilities. Well worth a watch and re-news faith in vampires as monstors.

Yeah, cool movie, a lot better than i expected actually. I think it's underrated and one of the better zombie flicks to come out over the last couple years.

^That was my only problem with it really, the vampires were more like zombies, only a particular vamp at the end seemed more like a vampire.

I just saw this movie on SYFY Monday and was talking about how good it was with my step-dad.

Watched it a couple of months ago. Very good. I think it's on Sky Anytime for those who want to watch it.
