Strange New Worlds Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - General Discussion Thread

Paul Wesley looking and sounding even more like Captain Kirk and even looks like he put a bit more weight on. His voice also sounds like a mashup of William Shatner and Chris Pine. That casting choice is really now starting to pay off.

The retro sci-fi and “Clue” episodes looks like they’re going to be a lot of fun!

This just hit me the other day:
Now of course, the extended break between seasons is still an issue, but putting that aside...
Obviously all of 'SNW' is working up to the point where Pike bows out and Kirk takes over as Captain, starting TOS. Meanwhile the show has gradually been assembling the new cast to play the TOS crew, with Spock, Uhura, Kirk, and Scotty on the scene with Bones and Sulu sure to follow down the road. (Also Chekov, probably a first-year cadet at this point).

So once the show reaches 2265, the recast TOS Magnificent Seven will be assembled. At that point, as either another season of SNW or a spin-off, the show could jump ahead four years, and just do TOS Season 4.

Is that even remotely possible?

We don't know yet. Frankly, we will find out once they do S5, which with current trends, will be the last one. Right now, we have 3 shows that will be in production. I don't expect another announcement till SNW is wrapping up.

No, I don't think so. There are clear breaks here from this and the Original Series. And I think even one of the time-traveling assassin Romulans offered a brief explanation for why that's happening. How this has all happened before, and that's why there are deviations.

This means it premieres in June or July, right Paramount? Right? RIGHT????

:waa: :waa: :waa: :waa: :waa:

I would like to see a storyline based on the Federation novel where Pike's Enterprise meets Archer's Enterprise NX-01, where Archer gives Zefram Cochrane over to Pike.

Patton Oswalt playing a vulcan, must be like one of his biggest dreams came through. And he totally deserves it.

Lol tv has become SO CHEAP when you have to SHORTEN 10 episodes.... that's already SHORT... to 6 episodes.

The future of shows is bleak

We still got 5 seasons, even if we aren't getting 50 episodes. I think we all expected the show to end with season 5 after Disco and LD. Yeah, 6 episode final season sucks, but better than nothing.

Of course but it's still ridiculous

It was a great run with Strange New Worlds. With 6 episodes, they'd have to line up with the Original Series era.

I'm still confused how they intend this series to align with the original series despite the multiple clear breaks in continuity. It makes no sense. Just consider it AU and do your own thing.
