Serenity is about to start on Cinemax & they just aired a commercial for something they say is the biggest Movie Event of the year. My guess is they will air all 6 Movies in order one right after the other

Spike owns the rights to air Star Wars.
Cinemax can't unless they wanna be sued.

I guess something has been changed or a deal was made because its happening. Showed mostly scenes from EP3 & one from EP4

But did the commercial say it was Star Wars?
It could be a big marathon of Sci-fi films.

It specifically said Star Wars & at the end something like order will be restored

Ok, you never said it said Star Wars.
Maybe it's a final showing before they actually hand over the rights to Spike.

but you said my Guess, you never said you were sure.

That still = saying Star Wars with the thread title having Star Wars in there :o All it takes is "common sense" & putting two & two together

By "in order", they mean 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, I hope.

Uhm...Lucasfilm can allow as many stations the right to show Star Wars as they choose. Unless Spike paid so much money that Lucasfilm agreed to give them exclusive rights to show it for a set period of time.

Do you have any information on the particulars of the deal?

OK...I found the deal...They have exclusive rights for NETWORK showings for 6 years starting April of 2008. Cinemax doesn't count as a network, and is not Spike's competition...I am pretty sure that Lucasfilm can still sell the rights to a premium subscription channel during their contract, based on the wording of the deal reported in the trades.

I want it shown 1-6, and not 4-6 then 1-3. George Lucas said Star Wars is made to watch back to back to back as one long movie instead of two seperate trilogies.

I feel very sorry for the generation that viewed them as 1-6, rather than the original trilogy and then the prequels. Every twist and surprise in Empire is completely ruined when you see them 1-6. The impact of that film is nullified.

Guys, this is Cinemax we're talking about. They have no doubt created some kind of Star Wars-like porn.

Finally, the soft-focus Chewbacca-on-Leia love scene SW fans have been clamouring for.

Anyone who likes Star Wars most likely has the DVDs anyway.

HAHA! That made me laugh! For real, I was like 10 when episode 1 came out. I saw 4-6 first. I actually first saw 4 then 6 (by mistake) then 5 then I watched them all over again from 4-6 over and over then 1 came out, then 2 then 3. Once the third came out George said Star Wars was never made to watch two seperate trilogies, it was made to watch them back to back as one film. He then said Star Wars is truly the story of anakin skywalker, don't believe me? Become a hyperspace member and watch the video blogs of the making of Episode 3.

[Luthor]Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/Luthor]

They order they were made is how they're to be watched. That's how my children will watch them.

And George Lucas is an assclown...Empire is ruined by the Prequels.

Well how could you like the creation but not the creaor? You arnt meant to decide how they are meant to be watched, George is. He made it

Then he should have made them in order...Are you ****ing daft? Do you really think he didn't want people to go to the theater in 1977 to see Star Wars? Do you think it was his intention to make a film (which looks nothing like his original ideas) and have people NOT go and see it until 25 years later, after they have seen the prequel trilogy he will be making after he finishes the originals and takes a 16 year break?!?!?!?

Wrong pal...he meant for people to see them...as they were released. George Lucas has said that they can be viewed as one long movie, and his goal was to make the Prequels seamlessly flow with the originals. That doesn't negate a damned thing I said...the twists in Empire and Jedi are completely spoiled if you watch them in numerical order.

And to answer your question...Star Wars was a colaborative effort. The OT was the product of many different creative and talented people coming together to make something from the very slim out line George Lucas provided. When left to his own devices he makes crap...pure crap...and he is an *******. He throws temper tantrums and can't handle reality...he has been surrounded by *****e bag "yes men" far too long. It is clear from the contradictory things he has said over the last 3 decades he is making **** up as he goes along.
