Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

I think it would...I suppose the clothing would have a 'limit'
to getting damaged though..but hopefullyit will look very realistic if its not made with dmm
I really hope it's DMM. From the moment I heard about DMM, I've been thinking that it should be implemented on just about everything in every game ever. One of my biggest pet peeves is that things tend not to react the way they physically should in video games, and DMM fixes that.

Although, even if it's not DMM, the apprentice looks pretty good in the gameplay footage I've seen so far. It's minor enough to not matter if it's not DMM but to be noticeably more awesome if it is.

Im thinking this game will involve a lot of stealth....You have to try and get past the stormtroopers without getting spotted or you wil have to go into combat which coul drain your health quickly if their is a large number f them..

See, i actually dont think there will much stealth at all. The force powers you have in this game are unlike anything seen in Star Wars before, and i dont think even a hangar full of storm troopers will pose a threat.

Yeah, everything I've seen of this game seems to indicate that it'll be the absolute opposite of a stealth-heavy game. The whole basis for the concept from a technical standpoint was to take the existing Force powers and present them in a superheroic, over the top manner. What fun is that if you can't go crazy and demolish entire rooms at a time?

Exactly, and i cant freakin wait!!!!

Yeah your right...I was assuming that you had to be stealthy because you have to not let the troops see you or they will inform the emperor and you know..

While the Nintendo Wii's hardware may be sub par compared to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 – and is unlikely to enjoy the full potential of three physics engines – motion control enthusiasts will be able to enjoy five exclusive levels in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

According to Krome Studios' Ed Tucker (via CVG), "On the Wii we have places where the story veers off and we go and explore something, take the game in a different direction, like the Jedi Temple level." Krome is handling the Wii, PSP and PS2 versions of the title. No mention of exclusive content PS3 and Xbox 360 owners might have.

The ps2 and version will be much more inferior compared to the 360 and ps3...This game will look mad on an HDTV.

Yea for the Wii version and PS2 version to be worth a damn, they would have to include something that wasnt in the 360/PS3 version.

What you mean?

I forget what particular article it was in, but they said don't expect the wiimote to function like a lightsaber. They said there would be some movement involved, but it certainly isn't going to be what most of us were hoping for.

I think for that to work properly, they would have to make a Lightsaber battle game exclusivley for the WII.

There was this fun game I used to play in the arcade, where you had this sword controller that detected movement like a Wiimote. It had 1:1 controls, and the object of the game was to slash up evil Samurai as they tried to attack you, while you moved on rails. Maybe something like that could work on Wii as a Star Wars game.

I'd love to see some in game footage of the apprentice in his cloaked costume. I hope the cape dynamics are similar to those in the Superman Returns game ie. the cape actually moves realistically and reacts to wind, movements, explosions etc.

I can't wait for this game either way though!

If you notice in the videos, the apprentices costume has pieces of cloth hanging from his wrists and pants and those move realistically. So I think the cloaked costume will move realistically too.

As for the Wii version, it might not have 1:1 controls but it recognizes 5 directions. Up, down, left, right and forward. That's not bad. I think. I haven't played any Wii games. I've only tried Wii Sports.

But like uchiha_itachi said, it would work better if they created a Lightsaber Battle game, exclusively for the Wii.

Yea, i guess, altho in my opinion that just doesn't feel right. Kinda like using a fishing controller for a fishing game, the controller works great until you catch a fish and you see it fighting on screen but there is NO response on the controller. If you had a saber game, what happens when you lock sabers with an opponent? Do you "pretend" to struggle? I dont know, thats just me tho, its one of the many reasons why i feel the Wii is just a really stupid system(sorry if i offend any Wii fans)

True, I noticed that. It's all looking good so far.

The preview at Yahoo! mentioned this: "To that end, two different lightsaber styles thankfully keep the button-mashing to a minimum."

IGN mentioned this: "The melee combat system takes into account the speed of your button presses. Tapping the attack button quickly will perform a series of fast slices, while slowing down your presses will result in longer and more powerful swipes."

and GameTap mentioned this (the same basically): "Of course, you can also use a variety of lightsaber combinations to attack enemies. Light combinations are performed by lightly tapping the attack buttons while stronger combinations (with more elaborate flourishes) are performed by holding down buttons for a greater period of time."
