Some very interesting rumors, that I really hope are true...

TFU Multiplayer For The Xbox 360?

A Bothan Spy has come up big if what I'm about to pass along comes to fruition...

We have recently heard from LucasArts that there are no plans for multiplayer on the PS3 or the Xbox 360 versions of The Force Unleashed since it's going to be availble on the Wii, PSP and DS. (See this post with our friends at EUCantina.net) Well, that might not be entirely true according to my source who is rather close to the TFU action. I can only go into so much detail to protect our Bothan Spy so feel free to take this as a rumor but if it turns out to be true, you heard it hear first! Per BS (gotta love the shorthand initials :)) Microsoft is currently working on a new patch for Xbox Live that is slated to come out sometime early next year. The patch is none other than The Force Unleashed Multi-Player! Based on what has been seen of this "demo patch", there are 45 players to choose from in multiple costumes and the EU is highly represented. Characters include Quinlan Vos, Mara Jade, Assaj Ventress, Jedi Leia, A'Sharad Hett, Qui-Gon, Cin Drallig, Darth Desolous, Darth Maul, Count Dooku, Jedi Brute (from the ROTS game), Anakin, Yoda, Mace, Ben Kenobi, Luke, Vader, Paplatine, characters from the Legacy series and more. Apparently there will be 3 patches total so who knows what else might be in store.

To say this could be great news is an understatement! Though multiplayer on the Wii should be fantastic, imagine the multiplayer with full use of the next-gen console capabilities, graphics and use of Euphoria and Digital Molecular Matter. Let's not also forget the wide scope of Xbox Live in general. How many players will be able to battle it out at once while talking trash over the headphones?

Again, consider all this to be rumorific until we hear something official, but I'm excited. How about you?!

This post will self destruct in 5, 4, 3...

Hmmm, I'd say that's just a rumour. I'd love it to be true though.

This is just a rumor, but I think there's a strong chance it could be true, for a couple of reasons:

A) They were clearly working on multiplayer. Even if they say there isn't any mp for the 360/PS3 version now, we know that they wanted to have mp. Even though they never revealed any details, they confirmed it more than once. It's also mentioned in one of the production diaries at the official site and even the Project Lead confirmed it, while also mentioning Xbox LIVE.

B) There's the Xbox LIVE logo, on both the official site and box art of the game. I know this doesn't mean multiplayer, but it does mean something and I'm thinking DLC.

Well, if it's true, I think we'll also see it on the PSN. Not that I care...:o

Im still waiting for home. It was supposed come out last december. Last i heard its scheduled for this coming december.

Hah, well, im tired of reading previews that dont talk at all about the saber combat, i mean i dont know how much more i can know about "unleashing the force"....tell me about the saber combat damnit!

Yeah it's getting pretty repetitive now - all these sites revealing their "exclusive previews" of stuff we've heard time and time before that, ie. the Vader Kashyyk level and Tie Construction Facility level.

Anybody know if the wii's storyline will be effected by the differences between houses? every time i pick up a multi-console game, i find my experience suffers because the wii version tends to be missing certain bosses or dialog or all out levels in general, and that irks me beyond anything.

I dont think the Wii is gonna miss out on any story or levels. I mean the Wii is actually getting some levels that the true next-gen systems arent, such as the Jedi Temple level. I think the "authentic" experience will be found on the 360 and PS3, but i dont think Wii users will be dissapointed.

I hope that multiplayer will eventually come to both the PSN and Xbox live because I dont want to buy two versions of the game just to have the multiplayer. Im sure im not the only one who feels this way.

I hope it doesn't. Finally, it pays to be a Wii owner. You should just have to deal with it, like we have to with nearly all licensed games. Stop being spoiled.
Small rant over.

The Wii get's 5 extra missions, 3 new locations and the duel mode. That should be enough. It's not our (360/PS3) fault that the Wii can't handle the physics or cant look as good as the 360/PS3 versions. The 360/PS3 version should include multiplayer.

The Wii can look a lot better, and play a lot better, than this game. It's just the developers are lazy and don't use it's full capabilities, and they just use a port of the PS2game, and sometimes vice versa.
