Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

I bought and completed FU on the Wii and the Wii controls made that game for me. Since trading my Wii for a PS3 the only thing that would persuade me to get the game again would be the inclusion of Trophies. So a Special Edition sounds good to me if they do so.

Ill put this in spoiler tags just incase someone is looking through this thread and hasnt yet played the game.

You fight Vader because he ends up betraying you. You realize that what Vader has been doing all along is wrong and you vow to bring him down, thus turning to the light side. As for Darth Maul, its not really Darth Maul, its Proxy using a Darth Maul program, but its still a really cool battle. I mean he fights just like Maul.

What sucks about the end of the story is
that if you go after Darth Vader, then you actually chose the revenge/dark side...but if you go after Palpatine, that is considered the heroic/light side thing to do.

True, but look how its structured. Palpatine was the one pulling the strings the whole time, so he was the bigger evil at that point. Had you of gone after Vader you would have fallen to Palpatines command. Plus if you go after Vader you are only doing it for what he did to you, going after Palpatine is more in line with helping the rest of your friends.

I thought it was a great ending overall. One of my fav Star Wars stories. Its cool because i feel the orig films kind of have a diff look to em now that i know how everything got started.

I agree about how great the story was. I really enjoyed Sam Witwer's portrayal of the character, and the story did put a whole new spin to the story and how the rebel alliance started out.

No complaints in the story area, I ended up caring quite a bit for the characters involved.

I've been playing this and it's really frustrating in some places. Overall it's good, but there are bits where the difficulty is just absurd (Death Star hangar) or the game gets repetitive to the point that it's nearly broken (bringing down the Star Destroyer).

You just named my two most hated sections of the game. The Star Destroyer section had me nearly throwing my controller through the screen.

The Hanger...ugh...I died so many times during that section. If it were storm troopers plus the AT-STs I would have been fine...but those stupid black suited super goulds killed me every friggin time. :cmad:

Yea i HATED the hangar. I didn't have any problems pulling down the Star Destroyer tho. That was actually one of my favorite parts of the game.

The little analog sticks that pop up on screen to guide you are f***ing broken. I had gotten it down about 80% of the way and I was following those little guides, but the splash of color behind them never turned green and I had to keep breaking off and fighting more TIE fighters without actually bringing the Star Destroyer any lower. It wasn't until I read a FAQ and found the Star Destroyer had to be oriented a certain way that I finally quit paying attention to those guides in the game and just tried to orient it the way the FAQ said that I finally beat it. Meanwhile, I'm shifting it into the proper position and the goddamn guide for the right stick is telling me to pull down when I clearly needed to be pushing it up.

I can take not being able to pull off quicktime events every now and then or simply getting my ass kicked due to sheer overwhelming numbers in the hangar--basically, if I suck at a game because it's my fault, so be it. But when the game itself is supposed to be guiding you and it's telling you the exact opposite of the right thing to do, that frustrates the hell out of me.

haha yea i got ya. I didnt really pay attention to the on screen cues for that part, i mean i did until i figured out how the ship was supposed to come down then i took it myself.

I just found out that you can bypass the Death Star hangar by breaking through panels on the floor and dropping down. I was replaying the whole game to level myself up, but f*** that. I'm just gonna follow the path of the dark side and take the easy way. :)

So how much of a difference does it make if you completely level up? The game was a lot of fun, but didn't hold much replay value for me.

I don't know. I got bored of it after beating it and sent it back to Gamefly. Forgot that there was DLC, though, so I'm gonna rent it again soon.

Not much. Other than getting all the costumes, there isnt much reason to replay it. The only time i find myself replaying it, is when i just want to pop in a quick action game or im in the middle of a Star Wars movie marathon(which i currently am, just finished EP III and am now playing through TFU before starting EP IV.)

Heh, I played it specifically because I had just watched the Clone Wars animated series. What is it about Star Wars that, after watching anything from it, you feel the need to swing a lightsaber around? :)

get the Wii version.

Its a fairly different game......that way you can play it again with a new experience.....and worse graphics......but the Star Destroyer part is just a cinematic.....much easier.

Plus a Bespin level with Garm Bel Iblis.

Hahaha, I feel the exact same way

Get the DLC Corp, its frriggin sweet man! I loved doing the Jedi Trials. I will agree though that the hangar was just ******ed hard. I finally beat it on Sith Lord but dear God was it hard.

I skipped it. :)

I didn't even learn about the DLC until after I'd returned the thing. Kind of sucks. I'm finally gonna finish Assassin's Creed next, and then I've got The Force Unleashed back at the top of my queue for when I return that.

Finally picked this up, got it for $12 at TRU with The Conduit. What DLC is worth getting?

Just re-bought this game today after trading it in months ago. Forgot how good the damn story is and how much I love the force powers.

I was going to ask the same as Spidey-Bat, any worthwhile DLC?

I just picked it up too, got it from movie gallery when they were having a buy one get one free deal. A friend of mine and I both got the same game and split the cost...so I only paid eight bucks. :D

Now I can finish my achievements.

I am hugely disapointed in the Jedi Temple dlc though, very over priced. I beat it in an hours time the first time through.

Sadly short. :(

Thats precisely why i don't trade/sell my games anymore. I did that like twice where i bought a game, sold or traded it in then ended up re-buying it later down the line. Ill never make that mistake again.

As for DLC, there isnt really any must have DLC. Just extra costumes and the Jedi Temple level, which is cool but its short and a bit overpriced. But the temple level does come with extra costumes.

Considering I spent $12 for the game, the DLC price wouldn't be that much of an issue with me. Does the Jedi Temple DLC contain the Darth Maul costume? I'd get it simply for that reason. It'd be nice to see Maul actually do something badass and not be a ******.
