Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Considering I spent $12 for the game, the DLC price wouldn't be that much of an issue with me. Does the Jedi Temple DLC contain the Darth Maul costume? I'd get it simply for that reason. It'd be nice to see Maul actually do something badass and not be a ******.

Yea, the Maul costume is part of the Temple dlc.

He still holds his saber and fights like Starkiller though.

Him holding it that way I don't mind. It's seeing others like Obi-Wan and Qui-Gonn do it.

This seems...interesting....
The Force Unleashed Special Edition Coming?

According to GameFly, the popular video game renting site, this September will see the release of a special edition of the Lucasarts hit Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which was released on multiple systems earlier this year. The special edition will apparently be available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles, with a tentative release date of September 30, 2009. Remember, Star Wars is known for its special editions…

UPDATE:
After contacting LucasArts for any comment, we were given this response from the Sr. PR Manager, Adam Kahn:

“…as always, we don’t comment on rumors and speculation.”

It doesn’t look like we’ll be told anything until an official announcement. We will keep an eye on this story, that’s for sure. Also, be aware that the Gamefly page that once held Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Special Edition is no longer there…

Seems a little weird releasing a special edition to a game a year after. Some games do it, but do they think that the Jedi Temple level along with the skins are enough to make people buy it? Assuming of course they're only adding the available DLC.

What would make people buy it, is if it came with multiplayer. They had confirmed multiplayer, even though they never gave out any details, but at some point they stopped talking about it as if it never existed. IF they are, releasing a special edition, I could see them adding multiplayer. They have released many skins on LIVE and like I said, multiplayer was being worked on.

It would have to be more than just the Wii's duel mode and I'd prefer it if they at least added a new lightsaber stance, so that not all characters play like the apprentice.

If they release a special edition with all the DLC (even though I have all available DLC :o), some behind the scenes stuff and multiplayer, I'd buy it again...:o
They could even release any new DLC that might come with the special edition and the added multiplayer mode(s) on LIVE, for the people that already have the game and are not interested in getting the special edition.

I guess we'll know what's going on by E3. So, would you be interested in a special edition?

It's only a rumor and since nothing was mentioned at E3, I'm thinking it's not true. Unless they decided to announce it at a later date. Maybe during Comic-Con. The entire Star Wars panel will be shown live on G4 btw.

EDIT: The Special Edition was taken down after a while, but I just checked and it's back up at GameFly.com. Maybe it is true and they'll announce it at Comic-Con...we'll see.

I hope it is just the game plus DLC. I don't care if there's multiplayer. It's not a game I'd care to play on multiplayer.

You might not care, but there are a lot of people that do. Besides...why would it matter if they added multiplayer? You could just not play it seeing as you don't care.

I can't see them releasing a Special Edition, a year after the game's release and adding only the extra skins and the Jedi Temple level, but that's just me.

What I really want, is a new Star Wars game. Battlefront, Jedi Knight or something new. I don't really count the new Clone Wars game being released. It doesn't look very good, imo, but it sounds fun. Being able to play as many different Jedi and Clonetroopers and in co-op sounds awesome, but from what I've seen, it looks like they justed decided to release a Wii game on the 360 and PS3.

This is George Lucas you're talking about :cwink:

I should rephrase what my post. If they release a Special Edition, I hope that it's just the DLC and multiplayer. I hate buying something only to have it be released shortly after with more features.

Totally agree on that. I LOVED Battlefront and I never got a chance to play online. Now that I have a 360, I would be playing it online all the time. Jedi Knight series was great. Academy is best game in terms of using a force character. I've not seen the Clone Wars game but I find the designs fugly.

Jedi Outcast was so much better than Academy in my opinion.

Outcast remains my favorite Star Wars game of all time.

Outcast was better (though started really slow) but I felt Academy was more fun to play. You had more force powers and you could choose the style of lightsaber you wanted.

I like them both. I just bought them again to replay them for the first time in years, too. They still hold up, surprisingly (although the slidy frictionlessness in Outcast is a little annoying at times).

But my favorite Star Wars game is Knights of the Old Republic. That game has a story that's easily worthy of an Old Republic movie.

Who's going to get the new, "The Old Republic" game? I might, but I've never played that kind of game before, so I'm catious.

My favorite Star Wars games are:
Knights of the Old Republic
Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Battlefront 2
Republic Commando
Episode III Revenge of the Sith
Lego Star Wars can even be a fun little game sometimes.

Totally agree on that. Being on Taris was annoying but after that it picked up the pace. And the secret is mind blowing.

I've noticed that Taris gets more fun the more times you play through the game. At least for me it does.

Not I. I've tried several MMOs and found them utterly boring, and regardless of how much the devs talk it up, I doubt The Old Republic will be any better. I'll just patiently await my KOTOR3 while playing other games in the meantime.

I must be in the minority that loved Shadows of the Empire for the N64. :p

I never got far it in. But back then I was a dumb gamer. I remember in the Hoth mission in the Snowspeeder, I couldn't trip the AT ATs so I had to shoot them down. Took forever.

Haha, it took me forever to learn how to trip the AT-ATs. If I'd had more games to play back then, I probably would've given up and moved onto something else.

I remember that being pretty easy for me.

Now fighting IG-88 was rough, he was a monster to try and beat.
