Someone should combine the two
Supershadow's website has been on the web for close to 7 years now. He claims to be good friends with George Lucas and has insider info on all the films. Everything he says is a lie.
Oh and the worst part is that it's not a parody, he actually tries to fool people with it.
And porn is the most viewed. That says a lot, huh?
Who thinks Mace beat the Emperor fair and square. And who thinks he lost on purpase to let Anikan kill Mace??
That scene was horrible, but I remember when I first came to the Hype,
the Windu/Sidious and Yoda/Sidious battles were in the very first thread that I created. The Yoda/Sidious battle was very horrible as well, but since Yoda only lost to Sidious due to bad positioning and Mace Windu is said to be #2 to Yoda, I'd say that Sidious would've definitely lose, eventually. However, Sidious was definitely faking so he could get Anakin's support (which I thought was a terrible way for Anakin to be "seduced" to the dark side).
Sidious was faking to get Anakin's support?
Anakin only arrived at the last minute, when Windu already had Sidious on the floor.
Dramatically, it makes more sense that Windu would have finished Sidious there and then, if not for Anakin. That's much more effective.
know what would've been even MORE effective. if he had actually been seduced by the dark side, instead of (stupidly) convincing himself that he HAD to.
seriously, I see a lot of people saying his turn was pretty well done, but I just don't see it. when he promises allegiance to Palpy he's doing it ridiculously half-heartedly. it was pretty much "one scene he's conflicted, the other he's a full fledged Sith with no qualms about it".
Or, to put it another way, it doesn't say much for internet users.
Exactly.
And Anakin turning to the Dark Side because Sidious lies that he'll save
Padme? Weak. Very weak. Lucas did a great job giving Anakin numerous reasons, the death of his mother, the slaying of the Sandpeople, etc, it should have all built up....Anakin should have turned because he was anguished and at the end of his rope, and Sidious offered him the easy path out.

And it's not even a solid promise. He goes to the dark side and promises to slay all of his friends because if the two of work together, they'll probably find a way to save his wife.
I personally think Anakin should have turned at the climax of 2, and spend all of 3 becoming quite evil, as well as militarily-minded. Alas.
At least Obi-Wan was fun to watch.
But wouldn't it be more mirrored if he gave in at 2? Luke was tempted by Vader (though it wasn't altogether difficult to say no because of his daddy issues, he still had that moment), albeit briefly.
I do like the mirroring, but Anakin as a slave always seemed wrong to me. Where's the disagreements between Anakin and Owen over whether to fight in the Clone Wars? How is a six year old the best star fighter pilot in the galaxy? (according to Obi-Wan in 4, anyway....Lucas gave himself a little retcon padding in 6) Who might Anakin's father be?

No, because the two characters have to make their final decision at the end of their training, at their peak, at the climax of their trilogy. Join Sidious/The Emperor and go to the Dark Side, or not.
At the end of RotJ, Luke has the final decision to make; the Emperor asks him to take his father's place by his side (Luke looks at his hand and sees he is alreayd becoming his father). Luke says no. This is all the more dramatic and effective now as we know Luke's father was put in exactly the same position, and gave in.
That's a good point. Well played, sir.

LOL, exactly. That's really funny in retrospect. Even if Obi-Wan only thought Anakin was that great.
