I still think Empire and Jedi hold up very well even compared to the prequels. In general, I prefer a lot of the practical effects and sets to CGI of the prequels.

I'm sure some of it has to do with my fondness of the OT, but I think those movies have held up.

I think so too. And as much as it pains me to say it, I think some of the updates on the effects in the OT helped the trilogies from looking too dramatically different when you watch them all together.

If that was inside the star wars universe then Palpatine's throne room would be full o people, that's why it says tickets are available, it's just a joke Poster, come on, Father vs Son could have been added
I understand it's not a REAL poster and it's meant to be humorous to cool in nature.

But my point still makes sense.

Continuation thread?
I'll post it again
Order to watch them?
If you already saw them all then the order is Prequels first and then original.
To get somebody into the saga the order is:
Episode IV: Introduction to the saga
Episode I: Origin and Anakin's first appearance when he's still a young boy
Episode V: Big reveal
Episode II: Makes more sence to show Anaking killing like that after watching Episode V and discovering the truth.
Episode III: Order 66
Episode VI: Big finale

By the way, after i watched Episode III i tought that Palpatine was more of a schemer having lost on purpose against Windu and equaling Yoda on the lightsaber and almost on power. I tought that Anakin was almost as powerful and would soon match his power, I tought that by the time the originals take place Darth Vader was stronger than Palpatine but considered him his Master a friend.
But by Episode VI the oposite seems to happen, Darth Vader seems to be afraid of Palpatine and Palpatine seems to be almost untouchable, i sincerelly like to think that like in episode III Darth Vader follows Palpatine because he trusts him even after everything that happened and just trusts him

I watched A New Hope the other night and it did seem very dated after watching the PT, but then I've always felt it was dated in comparison to ESB and ROTJ, especially as far as production values and action sequences go.

I still feel the saga fits fine because the OT takes place in a time where the Galaxy is under oppression, everything is battle scarred to a degree, where as the PT takes place at a time where the Galaxy was in good shape, the Jedi were in full effect and things were pretty prosperous all round. This is represented quite simply in the difference between Jango and Boba's armour.

The big difference is Coruscant, the OT (When not in space) takes place on sparsely populated planets that aren't that far from places we have now, only in the SW universe they are populated by races and vehicles from another Galaxy, The PT also has plenty of these types of locations but the PT features Coruscant a lot, a thriving futuristic metropolis which is unlike anything seen in the OT.

Hunter can you change the title of this thread to something without 2.0, 1.5, 3, 5 in it?

Sure, just went with the simple title given we are really covering all aspects in here.

Wow... I just won the sweepstakes for those daily saga giveaways... so now I gotta sell my copy that I bought.

EDIT: Of the Blu-ray

I actually like the Kotobukiya better. It doesn't look as stiff.

Plus, you get to change the way he looks.

Plus, it's a third of the cost of that other one.

It's hard to do a reveal of Luke being Vader's kid since it's so engrained in popular culture. It's like trying to not spoil what happens to the boat in 'Titanic'.

So I finally got around to watching Return of the Jedi last night and I had gone in blind about the changes on the blurays so when the Emperor is frying Luke and Vader speaks it scared the **** out of me. I honestly thought there was someone else in the room with me. Then when I realized it's Vader yelling "noooooooo" it just completely jarred me right out of the movie. I know this must have been discussed ad nauseum already but what the hell? I can live with the other changes (even though the updated ending to ROTJ is still horrible, new music and all) but who in their right mind thought Vader yelling (again) was a good idea?

when I lived in japan my japanese GF had never seen Star Wars...she freaked out at the end of ESB...kept bugging me to know if it was true...she couldnt wait for me to pop in ROTJ

Ok sorry, but your reaction made me laugh out loud :lmao:.

Yeah, this was discussed plenty but i guess it's safe to say you either totally hate it and it takes you out of the movie or you just shrug it off because you dont mind it as much. I still dont know which category i fall under, because i havent gotten to ROTJ yet, but will let you know what i think once i do.

Erz and Hunter: i think both those Cody statues look awesome.

I see thread manager struck again, but to answer your question Hunter: i dont really have a statue that i'm dying for right now. Lately my obsession lies mostly with the lightsabers. My holy grail is the ANH Obi-Wan weathered, so my heart was broken when eFx cancelled the Kenobi Ultimate they had planned :waa:

Something happens to the boat in titanic?

How do they fight him? Do they any have weapons?

Some old interview Lucas did he stated that Anakin would have been twice as powerful as Palpatine but that after his injuries he was only about 80% as strong as Palpatine.

Huh, that's only his explanation for him fighting slower and for the other things that happened later, Darth Vader is more badass than Anakin and i allways saw him as being much stronger.
Also, what Palpatine wanted was a stronger warrior, i think that it makes more sence for Darth Vader to be stronger, i also heard that Palpatine was conected or controled the suit, so that when he died the suit no longuer sustained Darth Vader
