Played this today and really quite loved it. Look for a preview soon.

Sweet. Looking forward to your thoughts, especially Starhawk controls.

Great preview, bro. I can't wait to play this.

Got my Beta invite today, so everyone check your inbox's. Anyone already in it and do you want to get together for a few rounds tonight?

No it's a private Beta. They have some secret formula on who gets in. If you played a lot of Warhawk you might get in.

I had a blast with my first couple of hours with it. There is no tutorial, so you have to figure out the button layout on your own. It took about 2 matches to get things down. I am very surprised how easy and fun the building making is. CTF is the only mode available so you get people placing buildings around the flag and placing walls around the base. When you spawn, you come from space inside a pod. The cool thing is that you can control it a little when it's falling and crush an enemy if they are in your base. Hope to get to play it with you guys.

Yep. I miss the hover mode, but the mech mode is awesome.

Yep. In order to get them, you have to build the Jetpack "dispenser". Starhawks and Razorbacks (dune buggy type vehicle that takes the palce of the Jeep) are only accessible if someone creates there building. Once a Starhawk platform is built (6 energy bars) for instance, it takes 3 energy bars to get a your own Starhawk built. It takes less than a second for it to be built and then a 30 second counter starts to when a new one can be built. There is a 32 building limit per team in the mode we are allowed to play in.

Well, the Private Beta ends on January 3rd, so I would guess Feb. or March.

Is this game only mulitplayer? I haven't been following it, but the beta code I got in Uncharted 3 created some interest. I hope it has a single-player story. I really only play single-player, but if the multiplayer is something to write home about, I'll probably buy it.

It does have a single player campaign. Even if it was multiplayer only I think it would be worth it as I played the heck out of Warhawk and the developers did a great job at making it a full gaming experience

It's really a lot of fun. The build a base system changes everything in a good a way, but it can be a little frustrating in CTF. Especially, if you going up against a team with great communication. I see a lot of get the flag and score, while everyone else builds a nearly impenetrable fortress at your base. Then get the flag again and don't score. Just hide in the fortress until the time runs out. You can beat that tactic, but only if your team works together.

That annoyance a side, the game is a blast to play. I'm not a big CTF player, so I am looking forward to the other MP modes and SP a lot.

I love Capture the Flag one of my favorite game modes. But Team Deathmatch is the best.

Now that 2012 is here, it’s time to begin looking forward to another year of hot releases. One of this year’s most promising exclusives is Starhawk, the long-rumored spiritual successor to Warhawk that was revealed last year. Closed beta testing has been running for over a month now, and now that the inevitable open beta is upon us, the game’s Director has stepped in to share the details.
Dylan Jobe confirmed that all current Starhawk beta testers will be able to take part in testing during the open beta coming soon. His Twitter post states:
Private BETA Testers are *AUTOMATICALLY* granted access to the Public BETA. Just don’t delete Starhawk from your HDD!!!
He also mentioned that a 1.2 update will coincide with the open beta release, which presumably will include some adjustments that closed beta testers have asked for. Additionally, ALL PlayStation Plus subscribers will participate in the open beta. If you want to ensure that you get to play Starhawk before it releases later this year, you’ll have to subscribe to PlayStation Plus.

I guess I have an extra Public Beta code then (Uncharted 3 voucher), if someone wants it.
