Starting a website

Yes, I had heard good things about godaddy. I was actually surprised when I saw that comment left, but with no further details, how to know that user's particular beefs?

I have godaddy at the top of the list still. Thanks for your suggestion. :yay:

Back on the subject of a hosting service...

Does anyone have any recommendations, from actual personal experience, as to a quality web host?

I have been with IPOWER for several months and I am getting sick of my site being down. It seems like at least once a week my site is down for hours at a time. :cmad:

Again, please offer a recommendation only if you actually have hosted a site, USED the site on a frequent basis, and can relate to a particular company's track record.

Thanks in advance guys! :yay:

I've always prefered 1&1. But just hope you never have to call Customer Service.

Good prices, and a lot of options.

Yeah, I've had no problems at all, and again, very affordable. If you know what you're doing, then you should be good.

Thanks guys! I wanted to get some opinions here before I go out and look at tech review sites where who knows who is paying who... :whatever:

I will post back with results later down the line. I can't imagine getting worse service than IPOWER, but then I may have just jinxed myself by saying that..:csad:

With all due respect, that's like going to the middle of the mall food court and saying "Does anyone have food?". You need to be more specific. What kind of website template? Do you want something for blogging, or are you looking for something more group oriented like a forum? Picture discussion ala Superdickery?

I just backed up all my site files and Wordpress files. I left IPOWER, but haven't even decided on another host yet.

I will take my chances this way. The last thing I wanted was to have my IPOWER account renewed for another year.

I will probably be signing up with godaddy. I'll keep you guys updated. :yay:

For anyone thinking of using GoDaddy...Just to let you know, if you want to transfer your domain from GD down the road, it's a bit of a pain on GoDaddy's side to do so. This can explain it better than I can.
