World STAS: What do you think went wrong?

I actually liked the season long story arcs (or chapters). If you missed a couple of episodes you were kinda screwed but it was cool to see the growth of Peter Parker.

I haven't actually sat down and watched the series from start to finish. My major dislike was the way they approached the Goblins. Having Hobgoblin long before Green Goblin was just stupid. I think a major problem with the series was that it put too much on one plate, and the episodes moved way too quick. Still, for nostalgia sake, and the sheer fact that I like the show regardless, I still love it.

Most of the big reasons have already been listed, the key one being the writing and censorship. And some things, like Spidey being leader of the Secret Wars and the whole finale with those parallel worlds were just plain dumb (can we even blame that on censorship?). I can only imagine how Black Cat fans felt seeing the white haired wonder be initially portrayed as somewhat petite rich girl for 3 seasons before finally seeing her become Black Cat, and having to attribute that to being jacked up on the Super Soldier serum. Chris Barnes had good comic timing for Spidey, but his acting seemed to get worse as the writing got worse. I can only imagine what he thought at the time, reading all the over the top melodramatic dialogue, trying to make it work.
